This is not a pre-FM. This is from an off-the-air master cassette I recorded. While the show number is not confirmed, it is likely Westwood One In Concert IC 87-24, originally broadcast on 11/23/87.
Recorded at
Colisée de Québec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada

This is from my master cassette. On my cassette, I cut out the commercials, so they're not included.
There is a circulating version on Guitars 101 with the date of May 22, 1987. That date is incorrect. I've included a newspaper review of the concert that confirms the recording date was November 7, 1987.
That version edits out Steve Downes announcements and leaves out the Jim Ladd/Roger Waters segment where Waters takes questions from fans. The sound quality is about the same as my cassette, so if you've got that, you probably don't need this...but I've got some extras for you:
Roger Waters and his former band Pink Floyd toured Canada at the same time. Overlapping tours using the same source material meant the rival bands sniped at each other in interviews. Concert reviews covered not only the band on stage but the other band that wasn't playing that night. I dug up over thirty newspaper clippings for you to read while you enjoy this recording.

Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Konrad. One of these days I hope to track down a copy of the original vinyl, but until then, this is a good place holder.
