Dom Martin - Plays Rory Gallagher

When we started this blog years ago, one thing that brought us together was our love for Rory Gallagher. Well, while looking around the internets yesterday I came across this guy. I guess he's opening for Robin Trower on some dates in the U.K.on his (Trower's) current tour. Not a tribute band by any means. Besides I hate tribute bands. This video is posted on Youtube. I have broken it into individual tracks for you if you wanna burn this onto CD.

Tracks are

1.Intro

2.I Don't Know Where I'm Going

3.Out Of My Mind

4.I'm Not Awake Yet

5.Crest Of A Wave

6.In Your Town

7.Should've Learnt My Lesson

8.There's A Light

9.Used To Be

10.Messin' With The Kid

Rory Gallagher - Live In Vienna 1987

 *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

“He had a beat-up old Italian Rosetti that was his first guitar and so he traded that in, got the guitar, and was doing the showband stuff with it, and yeah, he just saved up all his wages and paid it off in instalments.”

Even for a guitar that was used as heavily as it was, however, Rory’s Strat is famously, remarkably worn and beaten up – and while received wisdom often lays the blame at Rory’s propensity to sweat on stage, the reality is actually more interesting…

“The start of the wear would have been around 1965 or ’66, when the guitar got stolen,” says Daniel. “They actually did a little piece on Ireland’s version of Crimewatch! It was very condescending, it was this thing on RTÉ called ‘Irish Police Watch’ or something like that [It was actually RTÉ Garda Patrol – Ed] and it was like, ‘Oh and a young man with long hair has had two of his guitars stolen…’ – I think it was the Tele and the Strat – ‘If anyone sees them, they look like this…’ and a picture went up on the screen. I really want to find that footage from RTÉ’s archive!

“But they got dumped in a ditch about two weeks later, because the guy couldn’t sell them – obviously! They’d been on telly, and it was probably the only Strat in Ireland, there probably weren’t that many Teles, either – so they were going to be hard to shift!

“So because they were too hot, he dumped them in this ditch, where someone found them and two weeks later, Rory had them back. But I think it got a bit of water damage from that, and probably a lot of scratches from brambles and all that, plus Rory’s constant playing of it just wore it away!”

Rory Gallagher - Roll Over Germany @256kbps {NOW WITH NEW LINKS}

Alright...alright, enough of the love fest already. Time to get back to posting. I think as time and my sons let me have access to MY computer I'm gonna post many more vinyl records. Hey their all gonna have pops, clicks..no skips though. So as time and kids allow I'll get some shit up..  Once again Rob, I thought I had downloaded all seven volumes of "The Compete Sun Singles" however after checking it out I had only downloaded the volumes I posted, and seeing as how it's a Bear Family release and the sight I got em from is long since gone I'm looking for another source but it may be to no avail.  So in the meantime I will sing for you the other four volumes track by track.  See scans

Barry Richards T.V. Collection Volume 1 @245 Kbps

OK wrestling fans, what we have here is a guy from Washington D.C. who used to host a TV show from somewhere on the east coast. I guess his claim to fame was that he would feature a lot of non-mainstream acts. I grabbed this cause it has one of my favorite bands of the 60's/70's Crow. The fidelity may not be up to your liking but it's kinda the historical content that you are getting here. No covers. the first part ends at the Humble Pie stuff and part 2 starts at the Fats Domino stuff.
