The vinyl was in great shape on this one, there were very few clicks or pops. I went through it several times in Audacity and did my best to remove them. Flac files of wavs.
Updated February 2026 with 300 dpi scans of all four disc labels and a low resolution scan of the cue sheet found on the Internet. The concert dates have been tracked down and added to the text file.
Mama's Boys were unfamiliar to me and a pleasant surprise. They're 80's melodic metal
and show their Irish roots by tossing a fiddle in on one song.
The venue ("San Francisco Civic Auditorium") was renamed the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
after his untimely death in 1992. I tracked down an ad for the show and note they played both the San Francisco Civic (8,500 seats) and the San Jose Civic (3,000 seats) on consecutive nights, in spite of the venues being just 50 miles apart from each other.
George Taylor Morris was the deejay who helped promote the "listen to Pink Floyd's
Dark Side Of The Moon while watching "The Wizard Of Oz." In 1981 he became the entertainment director for NBC's The Source, a rival syndicated radio show, so I'm not sure what's he's doing here. Maybe he was between gigs?
The commercials:
Starburst track 12 is an imitation of Cyndi Lauper's musical style, with a burbling, percolating synthesizer line reminiscent of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," and continue the imitation with the singer's speaking in a thick Queens accent.
I originally thought one of the Budweiser ads was Dexy's Midnight Runners, but it turned out to be Oingo Boingo.
