Note:  the cue sheet has errors in the song order.  No venue or date is mentioned.

Red Rider opened for the Beach Boys at the Riverfront Coliseum on October 16, 1981.  That's close to the broadcast date of November 15, 1981, so it's a possible date and venue for this show. I've included the print ad in the Artwork folder.

UPDATE:
Our pal Sam Eliot's Mustache just pointed out that Red Rider opened for the Kinks at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio on September 19, 1981. That's 35 miles outside of Cincinnati, so it's also a possible source of this show.

This is another of those "much bigger back east than out here on the west coast bands."  I was aware of Red Rider and heard a few songs, but they didn't get much airplay in San Francisco.

I couldn't track down any concerts in the Bay Area during 1981, either, but that may be because a search for "Red Rider" also pulls up "the full line of Gabriel Shocks Hi-jackers Adjustable "E" Red Riders," a popular line of aftermarket car parts.  I found some record reviews for their LP but nothing to indicate they played any gigs out here in 1981.

But in Cincinnati, they opened for the Beach Boys at a 52,000 seat sports arena, which is a high-profile gig. I see that autumn they also opened for the Kinks in Philadelphia and the Jefferson Starship in Florida.

So, this is one band I don't know...but anyone east of the Mississippi is likely to remember them.

Oh...and before I forget... in our quest to track down who the heck is that on the Budweiser commercials... I think this one is Quarterflash.  A long sax solo and a female singer, and 1981 release date... all of that says "Quarterflash" to me.  But I need to hear from Our Beloved Audience here at the V-Wagon!  What do you think?

16 Tom Cochrane & Red Rider - Citizen Cain
17 Announcer - WMMR-FM Outro

Another from the fabulous Sam Elliot's Mustache collection.

During the encore break, the band thanks both WMMR and Westwood One.

There was a Red Rider / Bruce Hornsby Westwood One In Concert broadcast on October 20, 1986, show #86-21.  I don't have it for comparison.  The songs on 86-21 are Ashes To Diamonds / White Hot / Light In The Tunnel / Power / Human Race / Boy Inside The Man / Lunatic Fringe

It is very likely that this WMMR broadcast was the source of the Westwood One show.

I'm ignorant about the band's music. They weren't getting a lot of Bay Area radio airplay, so I'm flyin' blind here on the song titles.   Based on a video on YouTube, I've named track 7 Light In The Tunnel/Human Race. On the Westwood track list, the two songs are listed separately, with "Power" in between them.  If I've got a wrong title here, please let me know.

No press coverage or concert review, but we've got the ad for the concert.
