John Lennon - Walls And Bridges 8 Track Quad Edition @160 Kbps

* For BTLFAN if he doesn't already have this

From what I understand the only way you could get this was on 8-track. So that would mean this is unavailable on LP, and CD. You know this thing is way out of print. It features many mixes unavailable any where else. However I'm sure there's that super Lennon fan who will correct me if I'm wrong. Low bit rate (So sue me). See scans

John Lennon - 1974-11-28 - Madison Square Garden,NY

John Lennon
1974-11-28
Madison Square Garden,NY
Last Performance

One´s for sure: He knew the political system...

"It would seem that Lennon’s paranoia of government power structures were justified. Lennon was outspoken about his idea that small groups of people had too much power in the world. He once said:
"Listen, if anything happens to Yoko and me, it was not an accident."
And of the effect of the hippie movement of the 1960′s, Lennon said:
"The people who are in control and in power, and the class system and the whole bullshit bourgeois scene is exactly the same except that there are a lot of middle-class kids with long hair walking around in trendy clothes… The same bastards are in control, the same people are running everything."

In the end, Lennon was a radical–a radical who saw through politics for what it is, a struggle for power and wealth at the cost of human lives and freedom. We might call him an anarchist or a   liberitarian. One thing is for certain, he made a lot of people take a look around at the world in a new way."

The last live performance was played 6 years before his death.

"On this day in 1974, a music icon unknowingly made his last ever concert appearance. At an Elton John concert at Madison Square Garden, John Lennon came on stage and performed "Whatever Gets you Through the Night", "Lucky in the Sky with Diamonds", and "I Saw Her Standing There" in front of a packed house in New York City.

Lennon's arrival was a surprise to all the fans in attendance. Lennon made a deal with Sir Elton that if their song "Whatever Gets you Through the Night" reached #1 (which Lennon didn't think it would), Lennon would have to make an appearance at John's Thanksgiving Day concert at Madison Square Garden. As far as surprise guest appearances go, having John Lennon show up unannounced may be as good as it gets!

In 1975 when Lennon's second child was born, the former Beatles legend took a 5 year hiatus from the music industry. So fans, Elton John, and even Lennon himself had no idea at the time that when John Lennon walked off the stage on Thanksgiving night in 1974, he would never walk back on one for the rest of his life."by Good News Weekly

"John Lennon made a surprise appearance at Elton John's concert at New York's Madison Square Garden on this evening.
Lennon's onstage appearance was unannounced prior to the event, and the crowd reaction was ecstatic."by beatlesbible.com

John Lennon - KBFH 1972

John Lennon - King Biscuit Flower Hour
August 30, 1972

FM Source @320 (from flac)

On August 30, 1972, John Lennon did two shows at Madison Square Garden, New York City, as part of the One To One benefit. The first show was released as Live In New York City. According to the wikipedia, upon the album’s early 1986 release, Yoko Ono was criticized by former members of [backing band] Elephant’s Memory for using the first – and weaker – performance instead of the stronger evening show. The wikipedia also mentioned that “portions of the evening performance later saw release on the John Lennon Anthology.”

Thanks to JeffWeHo, who shared the lossless tracks on the internet, here are some tracks from the second show. JeffWeHo noted: “This is the original CD shipped to radio stations to play for the weekly ‘King Biscuit Flower Hour’. It was recorded on the same day as ‘Live In NYC’ but not the same performance.”

Track List:
01. Intro (3.5MB)
02. Mother (11.5MB)
03. Imagine (7.4MB)
04. Come Together * - omitted
05. Give Peace A Chance

John Lennon - Let's Have a (Birthday) Party, Oct. 9, 1971 - Hotel Syracuse, NY

Hey, everyone! Party at Johnny's house tonight!
I wish I could have been under the table (if only to record it, not because I drank myself there.)

As well as Lennon, Yoko and Ringo, others present are said to be Allen Ginsberg, Eric Clapton, Phil Spector (!), Neil Aspinall, and Mal Evans.
What? No Harry Nilsson?!?

I guess John thought everyone played without their clothes. I'm tellin' ya, it MUST have been the punch that got spiked.

John Lennon - Willowbrook Rehearsals 1972

http://rapidshare.com/files/225610728/JLennWillow.zip

http://rapidshare.com/files/225394565/JLennWill2.zip
(I was looking back on a review I wrote of Imagine some time ago, and thought this would be an appropriate place to share in memory of John along with the music. We're a lot tougher here on the Wagon than the Boot Stomp, as I see it--but as the guys say, "Enjoy it--or not.")

192 kbps of ass-kicking mp3

"When Lennon was victimized (or set up as a fall guy, depending on who tells it), he could fight back with a verbal ferocity that could startle onlookers and listeners--he virtually used his words as a master plastic surgeon wields a scalpel. In this case, he takes the near- punk-like composition of “Gimme Some Truth” and spits venom like an Indian cobra at a portrait of Richard Nixon and his administration’s dirty tricks. George Harrison’s slide solo flays all accusers who would harm his friend, and Lennon rages as though he’s been told to drink hemlock. Down your own throats first, he says.

You just try and tell me that Kurt Cobain didn’t admire John.
He was a burning bush for all of us."
