The "Live From Electric Ladyland" series was produced from 1990 into 1993 by Group W Broadcasting and distributed by Bullet Productions.

This show was hosted by Pat St. John, who previously hosted "SuperGroups In Concert," and “A Night On The Road” shows in the early 1980s, these "Live From Electric Ladyland" shows in the early 1990s, and in future years the Live From The House Of Blues Presented by Pontiac Sunfire shows in 1995/1996. At the time, Pat was the morning man on WNEW-FM out of New York City, and sometimes their Program Director.

The distribution schedule is unclear, with five shows in 1990, seven in 1991, two in 1992, and five in 1993. As I have gathered that information from EBAY listings and Discogs.com, it's possible there are more shows.

The first three shows were distributed on cassette tape.  I've also seen a reel-to-reel for the Jeff Healey show.  After that, the shows were on CD...with two exceptions (Jethro Tull, Kinks. See below).  The recording date was on most of the CDs, which also had "The Album Network" and WNEW logos on them.

I search for new information when I post a show, and found 14 promotional posters on Ebay.  Many of the posters included the broadcast date.

On cassette:
Santana, recorded August 4, 1990, promo poster broadcast date September 7, 1990
Damn Yankees, recorded July 23, 1990, promo poster broadcast date August 3
Jeff Healey, unknown recording date promo poster broadcast date August 17, 1990

Jethro Tull, recorded August 20, 1991.  Broadcast date unknown. This show falls right in the middle of the second year of the series. All of the other shows are on CD at that point.  No CD seems to exist of this show.  There is an Album Network cassette.  I have never seen a reel of this show.

On CD:
Little Feat, recorded October 15, 1990 promo poster broadcast date Thanksgiving Night, November 22, Mt Vernon Argus says Nov. 15
Living Colour, recorded December 8, 1990
Slaughter, recorded March 27, 1991 promo poster broadcast date Friday April 26
The Fixx, recorded April 29, 1991
Great White, recorded May 21, 1991 promo poster broadcast date Friday, July 19
Roger McGuinn, recorded July 19, 1991 promo poster broadcast date Friday, August 16
.38 Special, recorded August 12, 1991 promo poster broadcast date Friday, September 27
(the Jethro Tull was recorded August 20, 1991)
Alice Cooper, recorded September 1991 promo poster broadcast date October 31, 1991
Ron Wood, recorded November 2, 1992 promo poster says “airing this month”
Bad Company, recorded December 13, 1992 (2 cds)
Paul Rodgers, recorded April 29, 1993 promo poster broadcast date “airing this month”
Foreigner, recorded 1993 (only the year is printed on CD)
Pat Benatar, recorded June 1993 (only month and year on CD) promo poster broadcast date “coming in August”
George Thorogood, recorded July 22, 1993 promo poster broadcast date “this month”  Billboard 1998-08-21 says "in August"

Broadcast only: ??
Kinks May 12, 1993 (confirmed to exist, but does not appear to  have been syndicated) date confirmed in Daily News newspaper.  There is a tape of the broadcast of this show labeled as "WNAW."  It was actually WNEW-FM.

It is rumored that there are two additional shows:
Procol Harum '91
Melissa Ethridge Unknown date.

These are unconfirmed at this time...if anyone knows anything about them, please leave a comment. As Dr. Strange said, "Please...Scooby-Doo this ****."

The Bad Company show appears to be the only 2-cd show in the series.

Art Ensemble Of Chicago - Live Hamburg, Germany 1987

Art Ensemble Of Chicago - Live at Fabrik
July 14, 1987
Hamburg, Germany
FM source @192

The AEC Is an avant-garde jazz ensemble that grew out of Chicago in the late 1960s. Art ensemble is notable for its integration of musical styles that span jazzes entire history and further multi-instrumentalism. They have used what they term little instruments from bicycle horns, bells, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and a vast array of percussion instruments. They also include costumes and face paint in performance. All these characteristics combine to make the ensemble's performances a visual spectacle along with an auditory one... more here

Assembling in 1968, the Art Ensemble of Chicago came out of the fertile Association for the Advancement of Creative Music (AACM), a non-profit group that nurtured the avant garde roots of the Chicago jazz scene. Dedicated to fusing jazz with other musical traditions from America, Europe, Africa and Asia, the group's five members - saxophonists Roscoe Mitchell and Joseph Jarman, trumpeter Lester Bowie, bassist Malachi Favors and drummer Don Moye - have remained constant since 1971.

This particular live concert captures the period when the group signed with the Japanese label, Disk Union in the mid-‘80s. The concert coincided with the release of Ancient to the Future, Dreaming of the Masters Vol I (1987), a series of homages that the group made with their own influences. As Jarman noted: "It's meaningless to repeat what one of the masters has done, note for note. We are not as good as the master was, simply by repeating his notes. We need to play our own music and incorporate the master's ideas, but show they're an influence, not an affliction." Here, they perform a treatment of Albert Ayler's Ghosts but the raw desperate energy is rendered with a sweeter, fuller sense of melody without compromising Ayler's passion. They end with Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry where Lester Bowie's ethereal trumpet keeps understating the melody thus allowing your imagination to fill in the gaps. Sound quality is good. - Philip Cheah

The band are:
Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Malachi Favors & Don Moye.

This show was hosted by Pat St. John, who previously hosted "SuperGroups In Concert," and “A Night On The Road” shows in the early 1980s, and the "Live From Electric Ladyland" shows in the early 1990s, in future years the Live From The House Of Blues Presented by Pontiac Sunfire shows in 1995/1996. Soundboard remaster @flac

*Original Notes*

- MULTIBAND REMASTER by the Digital Loyalist -

Of course, fans of CAN already got this bootleg which is widely known for its nice soundboard quality.

It's a fantastic live shows and one of the last performance of Damo Suzuki.

It's a nice soundboard BUT i thought that it needed some remastering to my ears. I wanted to emphasize Jaki Liebezeit & Holger Czukay hypnotic rythm section.
So that's what i did using a Multiband Compression as i already done with my previous torrents.

Of course, if you prefer to stick to the original version, don't download it. That's why this sample is for.
You can compare with the original version which is on Youtube here :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2KRZheyS38&list=PL25A85FCF0410AD6E&index=18

NOTE
1 - At the beginning of 'Spoon', there was some applause that seems redundant with the end of 'One more night' applause. Don't know why.
I decided to delete few seconds of it so 'Spoon' succeeds to 'One more night' seamlessly.
2 - The first 3 minutes of Spoon are flawed then it gets much better. there's also a cut after some applause at 16'44.
Don't know why. I decided to leave it like that.
3 - Vitamin C is sadly cut out after 13'44.

Setlist:

01-Queueing down
02-One more night
03-Spoon
04-Vitamin C

LINE-UP :
Damo Suzuki, vocals
Holger Czukay, bass
Michael Karoli, guitars
Jaki Liebezeit, drums
Irmin Schmidt, keyboards

This has been shared here in October 2004.
At the time, there was a doubt about the real date of this concert (May 12 or 22).
But thanks to this website, we can be sure that it is May 12 as CAN were back in Germany by May 22.

A Whisper In The Noise - Live Seattle 2006

A Whisper In The Noise - Live Neumos
Seattle WA.
March 28, 2006
Very Good Audience Recording @flac

Influenced by artists ranging from Bob Dylan and Roger Waters to Philip Glass and Arvo Pärt, Minneapolis-based A Whisper in the Noise was formed in 2002 by West Dylan Thordson, who grew up on a large patch of farmland in the rural Minnesota town of Hanska (population 365). As an adult, Thordson moved into the abandoned elementary school he attended as a boy, where he composed in the music room in which he'd played as a child and wandered the empty halls at night. This dark, dramatic sense of loneliness and solitude informs the moody, atmospheric sound of the music he makes with bandmates Sonja Larson (vocals, violin), Rachel Drehmann (french horn), Andrew Broste (bass), and Nicholas Conner (drums, percussion). Within a year of forming, the band had released its debut album, Through the Ides of March, which was recorded in two days and produced by the legendary Steve Albini, who later took the band to Europe to open a string of shows for Shellac. The album earned comparisons to art rock bands such as Sigur Rós and Mogwai (the latter of which A Whisper in the Noise eventually toured the U.K. with), and also garnered them a performance slot at Europe's All Tomorrow's Parties festival. The band's second album, As the Bluebird Sings, saw them further expanding their experimental sound and covering Dylan's "The Times They Are a-Changin'." Produced by Tom Herbers (Low, Soul Asylum, the Jayhawks, Victoria Williams), the album was released in the spring of 2006.
~ Bret Love, All Music Guide

A Whisper in the Noise is the project of composer West Thordson, incorporating strings, piano, lush-toned electronics, and atmospheric singing. By turns pretty, melancholic, sad and charming. A Whisper in the Noise evokes a lullaby only half remembered, and the half remembered suggests a companion melody that (though unheard) is somehow unspeakably sad.

Bruce Springsteen with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - Acoustic Together

Gotta bunch of boots this weekend at my neighborhood flea-market. Most are soundboard however this one isn't but there are only acoustic guitars, harmonica and the occasional accordion. So don't be put off by that this sounds really good. I'm still researching some of the other boots, there's Stevie Wonder, Los Lobos, Bob Marley. The only problem whoever recorded these put very little information on the disc's. Also there are a couple of shows where I only have one disc of a two disc set. I'll be going back this weekend to the Flea to see if I can find the stray disc's. See Scans

"Davis was coaxed into the studio by Larry and Julie Coryell, to whom he had been introduced by his friend Eleana Steinberg. Steinberg's attentions were apparently helping to get Davis off cocaine and alcohol, and he began composing again. These items, on which Davis plays only organ, are just riffs, with the standard flashy excesses of late-1970s fusion. Apparently Davis and/or Steinberg suggested as the title for this tune "Amanaura," but it was copyrighted as "Miss Last Summer."

Beth Orton - Brilliant Bits
Various Sources @256

Back in 2002, a dedicated group of fans on the trailer-park-digest mailing list created this 2-disc compilation of quality radio & TV appearances, I traded for my copy about 3 years ago.  The back cover carries this statement: "Never For Sale.  Share The Legacy."  Well I think putting this great collection here helps accomplish that.  Thanks go to the people who assembled this in the first place.

BETH ORTON: Brilliant Bits

(Grosvenor House Hotel, London, England 1997-08-28)

I was able to determine the specific date for the David Letterman appearance and other additional info but could not find more specific dates for either the Mercury Music Prize or Jools Holland.  Three tracks have been officially released and thus have been removed.  Artwork is included.

Buy her albums, share this freely, and enjoy some of the best of Beth!
