An article in the August 22, 1981, issue of Record World mentions, "A concert from the Ritz in New York was to be broadcast nationwide via satellite on the Starfleet network on August 12."
The Ritz show was syndicated and rebroadcast ten months later in June, 1982 on NBC's The Source network.
We've got the original print ad for the syndicated broadcast, all four disc labels, and a Record World article from 1981 that mentions Kihn's "small but scrappy" record label, Beserkley. "Small" as in a staff of four!
Now...Beserkley Records may have been SMALL, but they had a large cultural impact. Last week, I was wearing my Beserkley Records logo t-shirt at a local baked goods emporium (the grandson and I ordered scones and cinnamon rolls), and the man behind me in line said, "Your shirt really takes me back!"
