Bonnie Raitt / VPRO Studios March 25, 1976

Bonnie Raitt
VPRO studios
March 25, 1976

01.  Love Me Like A Man
02.  Write Me A Few Of Your Lines
03.  Love Has No Pride
04.  Rainy Day Many
05.  Nothing Seems To Matter
06.  Under The Falling Sky
07.  Mighty Tight Woman
08.  I Can't Find My Way Home (fades down with warning beeps)

Hans Devente digitized this as a single flac file Summer 2014. I chaptered the songs and removed static a click at a time in Audacity.
Sound is a bit hissy, my guess is that the tape is a low bias tape stock.  The tape is also probably a copy of a master tape, edited for rebroadcast.  Other than noticable hiss, the sound is good, and it doesn't sound dull, as if there were multiple generations.  This is Bonnie Raitt accompanied only by her bass player - no other instruments.  The  fade out was done by the radio station.  I think the beeps are to signal the d.j. that the edited tape is ending.

These are flac files of wavs.

Radio Birdman - Live Sydney, Australia 1976 {Repost}

...for Pygmy Beat wherever he is.

Radio Birdman - Live Double Jay Studio
Sydney, Australia
1976-11-23
 FM Broadcast@ 320

Australian Punk Rock from the beginning of the Punk era in the mid 70`s.

I remember those days.I was still planning the world revolution, when my girlfriend returned from a trip to Spanish Castle Magic, telling me about boys and girls with green and blue coloured hair, who were hating all them hippies. I couldn`t believe it...
~Jobe

"Like many artists who were ahead of their time Radio Birdman never got the recognition they deserved. They never got very famous outside of Australia. They toured the rest of the world but nobody really took notice. They almost got a record released in America through Sire records but the deal fell through at the last moment and Radio Birdman was left to virtual obscurity. They broke up in 1978 before most of the world had even heard the term "punk".

This Record was made in November of 1976 on month after the release of their debut E.P. Burn My Eye. It was only a few months after the release of the Ramones first record and it was a year before The Damned or the Sex Pistols released anything in England.

This bootleg is true rarity. It was recorded live Sydney's legendary Double Jay Studio for an A.M. broadcast. Double Jay was a Sydney Radio station that played an integral role in the formation of the Australian music scene because they focused on Aussie bands and they were willing to play songs that other stations had banned for references to sex and drugs."
~Johnny Marston

Yeah, these guys were....well, they weren't "1977 punk" in that they were far more adept on their instruments than a lot of punk bands. Punk, but of the Detroit hard rock school. Do you know the Deniz Tek story? FASCINATING guy... besides being a GUITAR GOD, he was also a fighter pilot, and a surgeon. I feel like Wayne and Garth from the Saturday Night Live skit: We're Not Worthy!
Jeez...rock star, fighter pilot, surgeon...any one of those is a monumental achievement and this guy pulls off all three.

Misfits - Live Passaic, New Jersey 1981

Misfits - Live Hitsville
Passaic, New Jersey
December 25,1981
Soundboard @ 320

The Misfits have become one of the punk classics. With their influential horror punk ever growing in importance and their artwork which is everywhere becoming iconic. Little known in the punk era itself they have become highly influential. Their career is difficult to follow with multiple line up changes and a haphazard discography, Simon Collier attempts to make sense of their beautiful madness...

With thrashy Ramones block-style guitar overlaid by founding member Glenn Danzig's “Evil Elvis meets Jim Morrison” vocals- a close cousin to the Damned's Dave Vanian The Misfits have become the ultimate cult band of punk. They took their name from the Marilyn Monroe film of the same name. This band was initially much over-looked, especially here in the UK. Despite discussing coming to support the Damned in the UK after opening for them in New York, the agreement itself was a misunderstanding between Dave Vanian and the band so they only stayed for two shows before leaving the tour. During their fleeting visit vocalist Danzig got himself arrested for fighting with skinheads and was briefly jailed, an experience which was to inspire one of their finest tunes ”ËœLondon Dungeon'.

Steve Miller / Werchter Festival July 4, 1982 sound board

Steve Miller Band
Rock Werchter Festival 1982
Festival Grounds, Werchter, Belgium 4th July 1982

Hans Devente's original notes:

"RECORDED ON THE DATE, I WAS THERE TO SEE THE TALKING HEADS
TRANSFERED TO FLAC ON JUNE 19 2014 ripped from my original master tape, recorded at the soundboard, ripped on my nakamichi
this is the complete show, not just the circulating fm tracks"

Hans transferred this to flac as a single unchaptered flac.  I chaptered the tracks,
normalized the channels, removed a few audio glitches, spikes and static, merged the audio at the tape flip,
removed sector boundary errors, exported to FLAC, and compressed with WINRAR.   And here you go....
This is an exceptionally good soundboard.

Randy Newman / Haarlem, Feb. 22, 1983, fm broadcast

Another one of Hans tapes, which I've chaptered. All credit to Hans for taking the time to share this tape.

I've edited the tape flip breaks as best as possible.  There are a few other edits that can't be fixed....but in general we've got a very clear FM show here..about two hours of excellent sounding Randy Newman.  As he alternates between loud and quieter dynamics in his playing and singing, I chose not to normalize all of the tracks to equal volumes.

Greg Kihn / South Mountain Music Fair, West Orange, NJ Aug. 5, 1981 WNEW-FM

Greg Kihn was a local home-town rock hero here in the Bay Area, putting out an album a year between 1976 and his commercial break-through with his Top 10 hit “Jeopardy” in 1983. During those years, his hard-working band was second-billed on dozens of local shows, opening for major acts at Winterland, the Cow Palace, and the Oakland Coliseum.

In a night club, the Greg Kihn Band were a great, fun live act, and I have many memories of watching them play live. Kihn always had great taste in cover songs, and here he knocks out Chuck Berry’s “Around and Around,” Lou Reed’s “Sweet Jane,” and the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner,”….and his drummer, Larry Lynch, takes a lead vocal on Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and Higher.”

I'm not sure about the provenance of this tape; it's not one of my master cassettes.  A friend mailed me his copy and I digitized it back in the early 2000s; it's supposedly from a master cassette, but I can't confirm that as a fact.
