As a broad generalization, Westwood One regularly split the "In Concert" shows between two (or three) artists, and limited the Superstar Concert Series to just one. This led to some odd pairings, such as Twisted Sister with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Usually the shows were split 50/50, each artist getting the same amount of time. In Concert #99-07 paired the folky roots rock of the Wallflowers with the alternative grunge-pop of Everclear... the link being that the Wallflowers won a Grammy the year before, and Everclear was nominated for a Grammy in the upcoming awards show being hosted a week after this broadcast by Westwood One.
