On this one we have shots of the original cue sheets, reel, and tape box I grabbed off of an EBAY listing. They're terrible, someone took these with their cell phone. What they're good for is to tell us what documentation did exist and is missing for all of the other shows.
We establish that the tape box had "13TH IN THE SERIES" but the show number wasn't on the cue sheet. I do not see an air date or broadcast window listed. If the original box is missing, you won't know the show number, and the run date will have to be discovered from third party sources, such as Billboard.
I did find a listing in the Boston Globe that proves the recording date was May 30, 1982. Cost of a ticket was $1.50. Let's see...minimum wage in 1982 in Massachusetts was $3.35 an hour. So..in 2024 terms, it would be like a ticket for $6.75. The further we get from the past, the weirder it looks. At those prices, why wasn't I at a show every night of my life?
Anyway, Merry Christmas to all of the Voodoo Crew: the authors who post, Our Beloved Audience who drop the occasional comment, the behind-the-scenes participants like Sam Eliot's Mustache and Matt, and our fellow bloggers such as Jonder, JustDave, and Mr. Throckmorton III who drop by the Voodoo Wagon Secret Headquarters now and then!
I know Jobe has a soft spot in his heart for a little bit of Jim Carroll, so I timed this one to land on Christmas day, just for him! :)
