(I was driving in northern Alabama with my (ex)-wife one day in my truck when I saw a huge strip of torn tire ahead on the side of the road. Being the S.O.B. that I am, I exclaimed, "LOOK! an alligator!!"

Being she's a northern California mountain farm girl, she flinched and her eyes grew wide. (We were at 900 feet elevation, and those snappers live down in the swamps of Florida and along the Gulf Coast.)

But...I can't quite say they ain't got SOMETHING with teeth over there in WalyGator World. Mebbe something Chubby, I figger. Chomp!!

This show took place during the Frimetz 2009 festival (4th to 7th of June). The 2009 edition was devoted to guitar. The "Chapelle des Trinitaires", in the heart of Metz, was the main place for the festival but this blues night took place in a hall at Walygator Parc at Maizières les Metz.

The opening bands were Blufrog, a local band covering Mississippi blues standards, and Carl Wyatt, a well established musician of the blues scene. Unfortunately, as well as a very small audience that night (I would say less than 150 people), the hall was not really designed for electric live music..so, although the Popa’s show was good, sound was not so good. Though, it’s still a proper audience take. I would say sound is a little muffled but clear and correctly balanced. So, no need to switch on the woofer to listen to it.
