You get 300 dpi scans of the cue sheet, all four disc labels, print ads and an L.A. Times review for the Scandal show.

I was unable to track down a date for the Jon Butcher Axis show at the Roxy. Our pal Sam found an Ebay auction selling a magazine clipping mentioning the concert.  I found a higher quality version over at worldradiohistory.com and it's included in the Artwork file.

The clipping is from Billboard Magazine December 28, 1985, and the caption says, "Capitol executives congratulate the Jon Butcher Axis band backstage after their KMET-sponsored show at the Roxy in Los Angeles."  As the show was aired on December 20-22, 1985, and the magazine came out a week later, this provides evidence that the concert might have been in November. There's a listing for him at another club on November 10th, so he was in the area mid-month.

I couldn't find information on "Living For The City" and "Lucky Man," so they may be unreleased.  If there are any Jon Butcher Axis fans out there in Our Beloved Audience, please leave a comment if you know where these two songs were released.

The Charles of the Ritz ad imitates Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Until You Get Enough."

I've got three unidentified Budweiser ads there that all sound like the same singer.  What do you think?  Do you have any idea who that might be?  I'm sure the first ad is Lou Rawls, but is that him on the other three ads?

The Scandal set includes a guest appearance by Eddie Van Halen on the last two songs. I think they're the same set X-Ray posted a few months back. Now you can hear them with commercials!  Hurray!

While host Rona Elliot does not mention a date, I was able to work my way back in time through the Boston Globe, and found the most recent appearance by the Jon Butcher Axis at the Channel was February 25, 1984. I tossed in a couple of articles just for the heck of it.

On the advertising front, we've got Rick Mears for Pennzoil.  Wiki says, "He is one of four men to win the Indianapolis 500 four times (1979, 1984, 1988, 1991) and is the current record-holder for pole positions in the race with six (1979, 1982, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991). Mears is also a three-time Indycar series/World Series champion (1979, 1981 and 1982)."

Concert Magazine #9 - Jon Butcher Axis, Graham Parker, Greg Kihn Band - live circa 1983

Concert Magazine
Jon Butcher Axis,
Graham Parker, and Greg Kihn Band

Issue Number 9 for the week of May 29, 1983
Hosted by Michelle Roth, Phil Harvey, Shari Famous, Joe Cipriano

Jon Butcher / Uncle Sam's, Nantasket Beach, MA (also sometimes identified as Hull, MA.  There is a Facebook page identifying it as having been in Nantusket Beach)

The track list seems to match some of the BBC Rock Hour show set list (which I don't have so
I can't compare to see if it's the same show).

Graham Parker / Park West, Chicago
Recorded: May 14, 1982
This is the same music as on King Biscuit Flower Hour #427.

Greg Kihn Band / Channel, Boston, MA
The tracks are the same as those on the BBC Rock Hour #420 recording.
