Los Lobos Earthquake Relief Concert 1989

This one's for you, Mr. Mumbles.

This is from a broadcast in support of victims of the October 17 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. It's a stereo FM broadcast, most likely from KFOG-FM. During one song they break away from the band for a pledge break. You can BARELY hear the band in the background but I've left the pledge break in, in spite of the marginal musical content.  I think it's valuable for the historical context, it's not every day you have an earthquake.

This is from my master cassette so the sound is very good.

Polyrock - BBC College Concert #21

I digitized this from my copy of the LP and declicked it one click at a time.   The usual critical take on Polyrock is that they sound like the Talking Heads.  There is a a SMALL similarity in the vocals, but that's about it.  Hell, in that case they sound like Television, but they sound NOTHING like Television, in my opinion.  If anything, they sound like early synth-pop, which is usually a disparaging statement, but I happen to like a lot of synth-pop.  There are some good melodies here.   I say, "Check it out."

Right now, the 2007 reissues of their albums are selling on Ebay for $90.00.....so use this to check out if you need to throw a ridiculous bid at the collector's market.

I like 'em.  They did two albums and an EP, and they deserve better than to be forgotten.

Elvis Impolite Elvis

First off I believe this is an exclusive only on the Wagon (if not I don't care) This is not typical Elvis fodder. However it's not complete. It's missing the following items, Elvis burping at the dinner table and not saying "Excuse Me", The outtake footage from "Tickle Me" where he was going into a K-Mart and not holding the door open for the old lady with a cane. Not leaving the toilet seat down after doing "Elvis" business and not flushing. Using his hand and not a napkin to wipe his mouth after eating a messy peanut butter and banana sandwich. I'm sure there are many more but due to my fading memory I can't remember them all. Can you? If you do please feel free to list them in the comment section.See scans @224

Is this Larry Coryell with Flora Purim & Airto Morreira or is this Flora Purim & Airto Morreira with Larry Coryell?
Anyway, this is an excellent fusion of Jazz Rock and Brazilian harmonies...
