Now, I Know You're sayin' to Yourself - I Already Have THIS!
Well, YES and NO!
I've had this concert of RUSH from 1974 for a long time and have seen it on many a blog and website...
BUT...
They're ALL from the Same Source!
Apparently there was a Canadian TV Show called BANDSTAND who filmed this RUSH concert at St. Catharines, Ontario's Laura Second Secondary School with John Rutsey on Drums.
(You can watch it on YouTube in Living Colour, eh!)
AND, They ALL have the same problems and glitches and gremlins, etc:
The Vocals in the First couple of minutes of "Need Some Love."
"In The Mood" still fades out, 'cause, well that was the end of the broadcast! (Nothing could be done for that!)
And, the Sound Quality had a certain Muddy-ness to it overall...
Then Again IT WAS Filmed in 1974!
Apparently, some or all of the Original was released with R40 as a Bonus...
AGAIN! - THIS IS NOT THAT!
THIS is a Remastered Version of the Original TV Source Available Nowhere Else! It's NOT on ANY OTHER Blog or Website - 'Cause I Didn't Get It from Any Other Blog or Website (IF That Makes sense?)...
It's Not Perfect, BUT - To These Old Ears, It's Much Improved!

We have some Sonny Landreth down in our archives....but here's a new one. Well, a 25 year old new one, digitized from my master copy I recorded off the broadcast. It's the typical KFOG "in-studio" show from the Plant studios over in Marin County: deejay introduction, and the music interspersed with short interviews. Only five songs, but they all sound as crisp and clear as the day this was broadcast back in 1995.

*Accompanying Notes* The Led Zeppelin camp must have been upset when Plant & Krauss’ 2007 album made such an impact at this year’s Grammys. That “tour” looks further and further out of reach. Well doubters need not look any further than here. The pair’s shows are a varied mix of old-fashioned folk music and dramatically updated Led Zeppelin mysticism. When Plant & Krauss scream the “bring it back, bring it back” repeatedly on Battle Of Evermore, you’re left wondering whether it’s Zeppelin or P&K you want to “bring back”.For Robert Plant this pairing has been an astute career move, a reinvention that has worked while staying true to his English folk roots. Krauss hasn’t done badly either. From the usual critic’s acclaim she’s accustomed to, now she’s also got the popularity and album sales. All done without compromising on music quality. In this day and age, that’s truly exceptional.Aside from a TV broadcast of Austin City Limits, Plant and Krauss’ shows have never circulated in soundboard quality. This show is a rare exception. As far as we know, no lossless copy has circulated on the net. We can only guess that an official live album and DVD is in the works.Meanwhile, this is a tasty appetizer. And a sincere get well soon greeting to guitarist Buddy Miller, who suffered a heart attack on Feb 19. Miller is currently recovering from a triple bypass heart surgery.

The Taker - Tulsa essentially began the progressive country and outlaw movements of the early '70s. The record represents the discovery of Kris Kristofferson by Waylon Jennings; though it isn't entirely a repertoire album, most of the songs on the album were written by Kristofferson, who worked outside of the conventions of Nashville. The result is one of Jennings' first major statements. Although there are a couple of weak spots on the record, there's no denying that it helped spark a movement that revolutionized the country music industry. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
Excellent in composition, production, and sequencing, The Taker/Tulsa stands the test of time as the first recording by Waylon Jennings to show what it was he had been crucifying Nash Vegas producers over. The end of his long production relationship with Chet Atkins (as Atkins was moved upstairs), his hostile, barely a year tenure with Atkins pick Danny Davis, a successful run with Lee Hazlewood that the establishment on Music Row disowned because it wasn't homegrown, and the final straw with Atkins protégé Ronnie Light ultimately led Waylon to hire a new lawyer and manager and begin producing himself. The Taker/Tulsa is chock-full of Kris Kristofferson's songs. Mickey Newbury brought Kristofferson to Jennings' attention a couple of years earlier, but this time out, Jennings decided to theme his recording and showcase Kristofferson's songs. The result — despite the fact that the record was culled from over two years of work with Davis and Light — is the first real salvo in the outlaw movement (not Ladies Love Outlaws, which was full of demo sessions and unfinished tracks). Kristofferson's tunes, including "Loving Her Was Easier," "Sunday Morning Coming Down," "Casey's Last Ride," and others, brought Jennings closer than ever to the flame, to the dream of producing his own records with his own band. The Kristofferson tunes stand out, but so does "Tulsa" by Wayne Carson Thompson and Jennings' own "You'll Look for Me." The albums dovetails together like one session and offers a view of what Waylon could issue when he got his way. This is one of Jennings' true classics, and with Lonesome, On'ry and Mean still a year away. It was the first unruly outing by a man who, along with his friends, was about to change everything.

Lonnie Mack was something - in his day - Twice!
First, back in the 60's, he had an Instrumental Hit record - And it was so instrumental - there's a part of the guitar named after the single!
The song was called Wham! and the tremolo bar has been forever known as "The Whammy Bar."
Then in the mid 80's Lonnie produced some Excellent Blues Rock! One of his biggest fans (besides Me) was a fellow with the initials SRV! In fact, SRV co-produced the album that several of the songs on this Live performance are from.
Now, I have to tell the whole truth - I'm a bit biased when it comes to Lonnie Mack - 'Cause He and I were born in the same place...South-Eastern Indiana.
Dearborn County to be exact...Along the banks of the Ohio River.
(According to my mother, her Doctor. - while she was carrying me - "Paging Dr. Baker" - his office was in Aurora, IN) and Aurora was were Lonnie grew up ...And I (and probably Mr. Mack) were born at the Dearborn County Hospital.
Nevertheless, Even if that weren't the case - I'd still dig his blues rock!
Apparently Keef & Woody were fans as well!
Also, There's This: "Between the era of Chuck Berry and the era of Hendrix there were a handful of guitar players like Lonnie Mack who were making ground-breaking music... People like Dickey Betts and Stevie Ray Vaughan would tell you that without Lonnie they wouldn’t be who they were. That goes for all of us."
Warren Haynes
This is an Excellent SBD Recording from all the way up in New York City!
First Post Here: (Thanks, Jobe!)
As long as I live,
I'll never forget the first time I heard the Intro to "The Ballroom Blitz!"
The snare drum keeping time as Brian says,
It wasn't the 1st song I'd heard by SWEET - That was "Little Willy" back in '72...
But this was the Summer of '75 - You heard everything from America to John Denver to The Captain & Tennille to Eagles to "The Hustle."
But that song was so much more than the simple and very repetitive "Little Willy" and it made me go out and buy the Desolation Boulevard LP (Which I still listen to from time to time this many years later)!
I thought I'd make this First Post here in honor of Steve Priest, who died June 4th, 2020.. Brian back in the late 90's, and Mick in the early 2000's... Andy is the only one left from the picture above...
This is a raw, rockin' show recorded for the German TV show Musikladen in November of 1974... So, the Sound Quality is quite good! And, the Music is Great! Couldn't find any Artwork, So I made these simple covers, for those that still make CDs, and of course they're included in the download...
And now a word from Jobe.....Friends,fans,haters,and all around dregs. Looks like I screwed something up on Mega. So I had to create a new account. From what I understand everything that I've posted on Mega will be retained, however after 60 days that those files will be deleted. Luckily I still have the files on my external. So if there's anything you've been procrastinating about please grab it now and save me the time of re-uploading it again. I don't mind re-posting but it's such a pain in the ass. Also it has come to my attention that over at "The Adult Bookstore And Motel" those files can't be obtained in the U.K.(because of Zippyshare) and I am truly sorry for that seeing as how we here in U.S. owe you guys so much music. So from here on out my posts over at "TABAM" will now be on Workupload with a password (The same one that is used on all our posts here (fbsvw) So I hope that will encourage you to take a visit over there. However my posts here and at the Boot will still be on Mega (seeing as how it works in the U.K.) THANK YOU. See scans
