"First show of the Rastaman Vibration Tour in 1976.
All new compositions from the Rastaman Vibration album have been played, except ..."Who Cap The Fit" and "Cry To Me" which  had been re-recorded for the album." by Historical Streaming Concerts

This show proves Marley didn`t go the easy way! The reaction of the audience is very reserved. And Marley feels it! And he fights;he knows his heart is on the real side...

Marley had been the first one,who brought Reggae to the western world! Thank god he did!
I love(d) him, too. Marley was honest, true and tough! And he was a visionary guy!
And I can`t understand, why so many of the Reggae afficionados today don`t love him, not even respect him! Unbelievable!

"This bootleg features a 1969 Flying Burrito Brothers' show at the Winterland Ballroom, in San Francisco. The recording quality is very good. The highlights here are "Country Medley" ("If You Can't Undo the Wrong, Undo the Right" and "Somebody's Back in Town"), "Sweet Mental Revenge" and "We've Got to Get Ourselves Together."

Bad News

Levon Helm: His sincerity was as natural as his music

"I had the fun, the honor, and the pleasure of knowing one of the finest men who ever shared his life story and talent—and I’m saddened to know that he’s about to leave us. Levon Helm was smaller in size than I imagined when I met him in person, but when I left the shows after hauling gear in gratitude for his time and friendship, he was bigger than life.

Those first snare drum licks from the start of “Don’t Do it” from the legendary Rock of Ages was the magnet that caught me. That was pure Levon: the simple wrist action that would make a pistol-popping crack!--that and the thick, muffled thud of the tom-toms as he effortlessly rolled around his kit. His voice too: it sounded to me like something that stepped out of an old western movie, sun-baked and rich with a panoramic wonder that comes from being in the wide-open spaces of the American frontier.

I met Lee at several gigs with his band, the Barnburners, in 2002-2003, playing in upstate NY near his home, in Ocean City, NJ, below Atlantic City, and then at the Rams Head in Annapolis, MD. He had given me an interview several months before that came courtesy of Bobby Whitlock providing me with his phone number. I ended up sending Levon two books on old-style farm dessert cooking that his wife, Sandy, was delighted to use—and my mother later gave me two boxes of a Romanian pastry called ruggulah that Lee and his then-manager devoured at once.

Speaking of sweets, he once warned me “Be careful of those brownies.” I assured him I could handle it—and after I picked myself up off the floor, I was stunned to see him onstage playing with gusto and enthusiasm. But that’s what he loved to do—and nothing could hold him back. I wouldn’t expect it any other way. I hope I speak for everyone who loves him for the warmth and generosity of that energy he gave to his music: Levon, you will always be cherished for being a Rock of Ages to us." by Mitch Lopate

The Boys Wanna Say "Thank You"

for thousands of birthday greetings...

Grateful Dead - 1968-08-21 - Fillmore West - San Francisco,CA

Grateful Dead
1968-08-21
Fillmore West
San Francisco,CA

Although the rest of the Grateful Dead are going the commercial way,
there are still some fantastic shows left for us!(If you are lucky and catched them in earlier days)
As far as I know the Dead blogs aren`t allowed anymore to give the soundboards free for public users!Us...
But that`s ok. Nobody wants them to die of starvation...

Hi Mr.D!
We hope, you will enjoy this `68 performance.
In my notes I gave this performance 5*, so I hope you will like it,too, provided, that you like the early days...

"And a Happy Anniversary to this classic show. Well, this whole 4 show run from 8/21-8/24 is just unbeatable for 1968 fans. And trying to choose a favorite is like trying to decide which flavor of Ben and Jerry's you want. So good in fact, that both this show and 8/24 (Two from the Vault) are in my top 5. But take my advice - get the other nights now before GDL catches on.
Although the first two tracks are cut short, perhaps from problems getting the master running at the show, the Other One finally blasts off with a fury. These were the days however, when one or both Crypticals were usually longer and better jammed than the "meat of the sandwich" - The Other One. and that's the case here. But both are hot!...

...Don't forget that this was the summer that had seen the death of RFK, and the Chicago convention riots. And you can hear that pathos and feeling in every note here." by Dr.Flashback

The Philip Cohen Collection:
Santana Live
1971

From the early days of Vinyl bootlegs...

You wanna participate in a great Santana show?
This is the right time to do...

Santana in early days: Young, intelligent and with a lot of confidence!

“This two-record set was professionally recorded at one of the finest concert halls in the nation. Eight microphones were utilized by the sound crew on stage to achieve the flawless quality of sound that is evident throughout the entire album. It captures the peaks of excitement and emotion that accompany a live Santana concert.

Santana always knew how to throw a party and the Instrumental Introduction is the open invitation to have a good time. From then on, it’s guitar jams, African polyrhythms (before there was World Music) and breathless rock fusion with a solid groove."the artwork says...
