Announcer John McGhan does not say where this was recorded. There are two versions up on Discogs, one attributing it the Orpheum, Boston May 7, 1981 and the second to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, USA on May 2, 1981.
So, which is it?
The Wiki for the live "Finyl Vinyl" album mentions "The song "Can't Happen Here" has wrong location and date in the booklet. It was actually recorded at "The Orpheum Theatre" in Boston, MA, USA on May 7, 1981."
I checked the album cover, and it attributes "Can't Happen Here" to Uniondale 1981. I compared the songs, and yes, they're the same recording. This explains the sour
ce of the two divergent attributions on Discogs.
If the Wiki is correct, this is Boston, not Uniondale.
There are several bootleg version of the Boston show, and an official release in 2016 as "Boston 1981." That's still in print. As there's an official release, that settles it, this is the Orpheum, Boston, May 7, 1981.
Obviously, if you like this, go buy the official version. The vinyl on this was in decent shape, but four or five minutes of side two were a bit worn on "Catch The Rainbow" so there's a touch of surface noise.
