Frank Zappa - Crush All Boxes -Unreleased Album

This has been here before. However the post we featured (Mystery Box Disc 8) only featured side one. This is the whole thing that was featured on radio station K.U.N.M. What I have done here is included the between song banter (which features Jimmy Carl Black) from Frank introducing the songs. With the exception of "Doreen" the songs all merge together. Those songs are

1. Doreen
2. Fine Girl/Easy Meat/Goblin Girl
3. Society Pages/I'm A Beautiful Guy/Charlie's Enormous Mouth/Any Downers/Conehead

Plus I've added
4. Doreen (Part 2)

And as always *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

David Bowie - Strange Fascination Live 1974 HERE'S TO THE BOSS GET WELL !!!!!!!!

Got this cryptic message from The Boss yesterday, (Sunday Jan 3) I'm at the hospital. Will probably be here at least a day or more. That's all I got. So I've decided  everyone who uses this site PLEASE, LET'S FLOOD THE COMMENTS WITH WELL WISHES FOR INASILENTWAY. He's the one that keeps this place going. This is his labor of love. Without him you wouldn't get all you do. So for the first time in this site's history (you can wish him well over at The Boot too) let's rack up the comments. This is posted for him. And seeing as how Bowie always gets a ton of downloads I'm expecting YOU to show a little gratitude while your waiting for this to load. Look, if you need to ask for the password, the least you can do is thank him See scans

Generation X- The BBC Transcription Disc Series #126 1978

*MY ORIGINAL VINYL COPY

On Friday my son and I finally figured out how to hook my turntable up to my comp. Now I know you might be saying what a couple of maroons, but when you're using a Kenner Close and Play and Electrophonic equipment this was quite an accomplishment for us. Also The Boss sent me a ton of music of which I'm going through and will eventually end up here. Billy Idol before he had eyes without a face. Smoking performance. See scans

If you want the interviews go to youtube and watch them there. Hey since everyone is on an Alberto y Lost Trios kick does anybody have a link to the album "The Best Of The Berts?" If so please leave it in the comments, otherwise....

Guns N' Roses Sessions

 *THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

I know, I know I owe you a couple more Beatles post, but stay tuned they're coming up. This post was gonna be about how I hate blogs that promote their own shitty music, think their clever and/or funny, or rip off other blogs and don't give any thanks. Jeez then I thought about it for a couple minutes and I'm as guilty of everything that I was going to rail about as the next person. Then I came to another conclusion, I will no longer be a Blog hater. No as a matter of fact I'm grateful for the Blog's that do exist. It's almost a dying breed. I'm under the impression that the only ones who pay any attention to the Blog's anymore are true music lovers. So to all my Blog brothers bless you for all you do and all the hard work you put into them. As a matter of fact I'm kicking around the idea (and if I can get the financial backing) I'm gonna stage the first Jobe's Peace and Love Festival. I'm trying to contact the estates of The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, John Prine, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Prince.(The Elvis estate has already said no) Then those that are still with us, like these guys, The Stones and many many others if they would like to participate. So hang loose and stay tuned for more info. See scans.

Boz Scaggs-Live At The Greek July 1995

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

Okay, so yesterday a very attractive early to mid twenties woman walks into the building I am supposedly safeguarding wearing a Pantera shirt. (I wasn't looking at that part of her anatomy....well maybe a little) I've seen her before and she's always wearing some kind of metal band t-shirt. I said to her "So you're a metal-head" to which she replied "Yea I am" I said "Whenever I see you, you're always wearing a metal shirt, last time it was.....I was dumbfounded. She bailed me out by saying "It was probably Slipknot" I told her "I am an old school metal-head, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath" to which she said "I like them too." She then went on her way. But this got me to thinking, man I really couldn't come up with any more "Old School" metal bands. With the exception (maybe) of Black Sabbath, what and when did the term "Heavy Metal" really come into existence? I know Steppenwolf supposedly coined the phrase but you can't consider them heavy-metal. And really, let's face it Deep Purple weren't heavy-metal. Back then I guess it was called "Hard Rock" I punched up a search for heavy metal albums from 1972/73 and these were the results. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Budgie, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Coope. Then from 73 the first five were Black Sabbath, Budgie, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple. I never have considered Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Budgie or Hendrix "Heavy-Metal." When you think about it maybe the first real "heavy-metal"album is Blue Cheer's Vincebus Eruptum. After that it seems like it all falls back to the term "Hard Rock" Now don't get me wrong every Slipknot, Korn, Tool, Metallica, A Perfect Circle...this goes on to infinity, owes a huge debt to the MC5, Deep Purple, Budgie, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, but of course all these "new" metal bands crawl and hide and say "mommy tell me when it's over" compared to The Stooges Raw Power, to which no new metal bands have compared to James Willamson's guitar riff-age.It's a shame that Pantera t-shirt girl and her ilk will never hear Iggy, The Mc5, Blue Cheer, and just know the "hits" of the other mentioned bands. You know I don't post a lot of that new metal here cause personally I think it sucks. So now to the point that leads me to this editorial, Honey (with the Pantera shirt) I know you'll never see this (shit do 20 to 30's even know what a blog is?) so when you and your boyfriend are getting ready to slam on Saturday night, might I suggest that maybe you put Funhouse on. Then when you get to be my age and you want to enjoy the events of a Saturday night might I also suggest you put on (along with your thong) the above Mr. Scaggs. GOD I'M OLD, I HAVE BECOME THE PERRY COMO OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY.  See scans

Tomorrow, Today Will Be Yesterday...

This is one of those bands I ran across at my Excellent Used Record Store!
I bought their First LP - Yesterday And Today (Later to be shortened to Y&T)
Just from Lookin' At The Cover!
and their Second Album - Struck Down - Both on London Records!
That First Album was released in 1976, SO, THIS Concert takes place a couple years before... But, Many of these songs would make their first 2 releases.
They Played a lot in the Bay Area in California (Just ask anyone who was around there back then!)
Good Old-Fashioned Rock N Roll!

This is a Great Sounding Soundboard!
Everything is Clear and Balanced - ALL Instruments and Vocals can be Heard - It's NOT too Tin-y Nor Too Bass-y!
You've may have noticed I don't Rate or Rank Bootlegs with Any Kind of Scale - 'Cause, Well, They're ALL Subjective anyway...
What I think is a 9 - You might think is a 7 or 8!
Or, If I call it an "A" You may think it's a "B+" Etc.
That's why I try to Describe the Sound of the Bootleg!

There are some Bootlegs (Radio Broadcasts, Studio Recordings, Etc.) out there that are what I call "Damn Near Perfect!"
But, an Actual Bootleg being Perfect - I believe is "Fool's Gold!"
There's always Something it seems to me, Like the Vocals could be a little Higher or Lower in the mix, a Little Less or More Bass, Etc. Or Whatever!

NOTE: Leonard Haze (R.I.P.) - Drummer is ONLY playing ONE Bass Drum with ONLY his right foot on ONLY ONE Foot Pedal, Even though it may Sound Like a Double Bass Set Up!

Apparently, This show was Filmed and There's a Bootleg DVD out there of it!

ANOTHER NOTE: There is a Hidden Song NOT Listed on the Back Cover: "Road" It follows Game Playing Woman and they transition quickly, So, I didn't wanna make a bad cut there!
