Files retagged as of Feb. 2025 by Đ®åⒻṬëŕṽøï. Updated with scans of all four disc labels.  When I started digitizing shows back in 2011, I had no idea you wanted to look at all four of the labels.  Well, now you can look at all of them!

Westwood One's In Concert show usually featured one or two artists...but this one's a three-way split of the air time.  Flac files of wavs, with a 300 dpi scan of the cue sheet and all four disc labels.

In 2016, when I originally posted this, I thought the A Flock of Seagulls was recorded at Perkin's Palace. In 2025, I was unable to confirm that as a fact, so I've removed that information.  We do not know where the show was recorded.

Recorded from the syndicated broadcast discs January 2016. Flac files of wavs.
File tagging updated September 2025.  Includes the cue sheet and all four disc labels.

Making their Voodoo Wagon debut, here's Duke Jupiter! Duke Jupiter were based in Rochester, New York and released seven albums between 1978 and 1985 in a melodic hard rock style before wrapping up their career in 1986.  They had a very large following in the northeastern U.S.A., and did a Rochester reunion show in 2010 that drew 10,000 fans.

Prior to the the Aldo Nova CL 2184 on June 23, 1984, all shows had two versions: hosted and unhosted.  As this show was after that date, there is only a hosted version of this show.

Jim Ladd was the host, who at the time was with KMET-FM (Los Angeles).  You may also recognize Ladd as "DJ Jim" from Roger Water's "Radio K.A.O.S." album, and he was the inspiration for Tom Petty's "The Last DJ."  On this one, his script maintains the rather silly pretense he's at the actual concert, with lines like "I've just been informed that the band is ready to leave their dressing rooms" and "the audience is standing in the aisle, so don't go away, we're definitely going to get an encore!"

I've digitized this as flac files of waves, and included 300 dpi scans of the cue sheet and a disc label.

Jerry Lee Lewis / Palomino Club Feb. 28, 1986 syndicated radio show

Great balls o' fire, we don't seem to have put up any of the Killer in over five years.  He's one of the last of the great 1950s rockers still alive.  He's still gliding down the keyboard with pointless glissandos, banging his foot on the keyboard, and proclaiming his own greatness, playing aggressively, and doing it his way.

Anyway....we've got a bit of a radio mystery as to what this show actually is....

The disc label is a "Live From Gilley's, but the cue sheet says "Westwood One Presents."  These were two different shows, which used different labels on the discs.

The show introduction by Jim Duncan says "Westwood One Presents the Jerry Lee Lewis show, live from the Palomino Club in North Hollywood." but the "outro" after the show says "join us next for Johnny Rodriguez show, live from Gilley's."

My guess is that it's ridiculous to introduce the show as "Westwood One Live At Gilley's presents Jerry Lee Live At The Palomino" so they opted for a Westwood One Presents cue sheet and introduction, and then reverted to the Live From Gilley's outro.

And as if that's not confusing enough......

There's an album out there called "The Complete Palomino Club Recordings" which OF COURSE is not complete, as it only compiles performances from 1979-81 and 1985.  Jerry Lee Lewis performed at the Palomino every year from 1957 until 1987, sometimes playing three or four times a year.  So if you've got "The Complete Palomino," you need this recording...but you'll still be nowhere near complete.

In spite of the venue being the Palomino, this Westwood One show was bootlegged in Europe in 1988 on 2 LP's entitled "Live From Gilley's Volume 1," and "Live From Gilley's Volume 2."

There's also ANOTHER "Live From Gilley's" album with an entirely different track list combining songs from '83 and '87 that appears to be a legitimate release, as it's up on Amazon.  It may actually BE from Gilley's.

There's also ANOTHER show derived from 1984 Westwood One shows, ALSO named "Live At Gilley's."

Anyway...as for this one, while the disc label up there says "Live At Gilley's," this is THE PALOMINO CLUB, and it's ALL KILLER NO FILLER.

This version was digitized January 2016 from the syndicated transcription disc.
Flac files of wavs; includes 300 dpi scans of the cue sheet, affidavit, and disc label.

Quicksand is an American post-hardcore band from New York City founded in 1990. Their debut self-titled EP was followed by two major label albums, Slip and Manic Compression. Quicksand's sound has been compared to that of post-hardcore bands Fugazi and Helmet. The band supported their releases with extensive touring but fell short of the mainstream success anticipated by their labels. These factors and internal stress led them to separate first in 1995 and again in 1999 following a failed year-and-a-half reunion. In June 2012, Quicksand reunited for a special one-night performance and since has been playing additional live shows. The band has reportedly been working on new material.

Happy Birthday To Us!!!

Today marks Voodoo Wagon's 7th birthday!!
We started this blog on this day in 2009!
Maybe we can go another 7 years...or maybe another 7 days. It all depends on you guys.
Keeping this thing going can get REALLY tedious and boring when we only get
comments from a handful of people who are regulars.
So let's hope for at least another year and some more audience participation.

Thanks to those of you who have supported us with comments and donations!!

Everyone else needs to kick it up notch!!!

On With The Show!!!

Soundboard @flac

Notes From Dime seeder...
Here's my last full-length Buddy / Junior and its a great one taken entirely from a second gen soundboard source. The only thing puzzling about this show is the date. There's a very famous BG / SRV performance from Legends in Chicago on the same date as this. However, Buddy clearly says that it's his birthday while tap dancing around the false Junior introduction in the first set and the show was clearly marked as 1989-07-30 when I received the show back in trade in 1997. So, a bit of controversy while you spend 2.5 hours listening to this great show.

David Bowie - January 8, 1947 - January 10, 2016 ~ R.I.P. ~

David Bowie -  January 8, 1947 – January 10, 2016
~ R.I.P. ~

British music legend David Bowie has died after a long battle with cancer, his official Twitter and Facebook accounts said Monday, prompting an outpouring of tributes. Mr Bowie died on Sunday surrounded by family, just two days after he turned 69 and released his new album Blackstar. "David Bowie died peacefully today (Sunday) surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," said a brief statement posted to both his Twitter and Facebook accounts. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their time of grief," it added.

The death brings the curtain down on one of the most acclaimed artists of modern British music.

Paul Westerberg - Gravel Pit @224 kbps

In anticipation of his and Juliana Hatfield's new release, I'm putting this up. I know it's all over the net but just in case you don't have it and are a fan of his like I am this may hold you over for a bit. One of my all time favorite covers on this Wreckless Eric's "Whole Wide World" This says soundboard but I think it's just an excellent audience recording. See scans
