Another Hans Devente tape. Tracks 1-14 are from VPRO-FM, tracks 15-19 are an audience tape. The FM is pretty good, although a bit hissy in the quiet portions.
The audience tape is muddy.
Hans notes: "part one is the radio show, part two is those tracks not in the broadcast, but my own recording in paradise, not the greatest sound ever, but I still like it"

Okay, gang... this is a re-up of a post from over ten years ago, back when Hans Devente was dropping tapes on one of his many peripatetic blogs that came and went every few weeks for awhile. I originally posted it on one of our offshoots that we eventually took down. A few months back, our pal Jonder was posting some Richman, and I went down in the musty catacombs beneath Castle Đ®åⒻṬëŕṽøï rediscovered my copy. Over the years, someone added a cover to it.
AS I originally wrote (above), the quality varies, but collectors will find it of interest.

01 Announcer - Intro 02 Don Dixon - Swallowing Pride 03 Don Dixon - I've Got Dreams To Remember 04 Don Dixon - Inside These Arms 05 Don Dixon - Outro 06 Don Dixon - Why (B-side of Praying Mantis)
This is a short radio show. The generation of my copy is unknown but it is likely first generation.
In the liner notes to the odds n' sods CD collection, "Note Pad #38," Dixon mentions ""Inside These Arms:" I remember singing this song live on the radio in the Netherlands the day after I wrote it... sometime in the mid 80s...I was there doing promo for "Most of the Girls Like To Dance But Only Some Of The Boys Like To.""
Whoever I traded with for this show filled it out with the B-side of "Praying Mantis." As that's still unreleased on CD I've left it on.

This is another of Hans Devente's tapes. I chaptered it to make it easier to navigate. The show is a Dutch radio special. I've presented the show as originally uploaded, with the musical intro (in Spanish) and all of the commentary (in Dutch). The show has five different sources. The first one is the lowest quality, both in sound (there's construction going on in the room).....and performance. As Miller puts it, "I've been drinking Akvavit for two hours, somebody gimme a beer...." In general, the sound is about "B" FM radio broadcast...some hiss...too much talking...but I've never heard any of these performances before. If anyone speaks Dutch and can figure out the other sources or years, please leave a note in the comments. UPDATE! Many thanks to Feelgood for helping identify the sources for this tape! His information is added below, and I've updated the track listing here. Steve Miller Special VPRO Radio 1978 several sources, 1970s Hans Devente's original notes say, "THIS IS AN HOUR LONG STEVE MILLER PROGRAM, WITH LIVE TRACKS, INTERVIEWS, CONTAINING TRACKS FROM 5 SHOWS IN THE 7TIES, ITS IN DUTCH, BUT THE MUSIC IS NOT....." 01. A lot of bands have stayed there in the years 60-70.
If they performed in the basement, they were allowed to stay for free.
A day before the concert at Concertgebouw, Amsterdam one of VPRO's reporters went to the Hotel Wiechman in Amsterdam to do an interview with Steve Miller. The hotel was in the middle of a renovation and reporter Wim Noordhoek found Steve Miller downstairs in the bar with the carpenters. Steve is practicing and screwing around while some guys are constructing a bar at the Hotel Weichman. Therefore, one could hear all kinds of noise on the background.

Bonnie Raitt VPRO studios March 25, 1976 01. Love Me Like A Man 02. Write Me A Few Of Your Lines 03. Love Has No Pride 04. Rainy Day Many 05. Nothing Seems To Matter 06. Under The Falling Sky 07. Mighty Tight Woman 08. I Can't Find My Way Home (fades down with warning beeps) Hans Devente digitized this as a single flac file Summer 2014. I chaptered the songs and removed static a click at a time in Audacity. Sound is a bit hissy, my guess is that the tape is a low bias tape stock. The tape is also probably a copy of a master tape, edited for rebroadcast. Other than noticable hiss, the sound is good, and it doesn't sound dull, as if there were multiple generations. This is Bonnie Raitt accompanied only by her bass player - no other instruments. The fade out was done by the radio station. I think the beeps are to signal the d.j. that the edited tape is ending. These are flac files of wavs. https://mega.co.nz/#!rI4XRDia!N8jisJa6OTj8XkmPE-oIoG1TBqG5727r-M8m9uINksg
Kraftwerk Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, Utrecht VPRO Radio December 10, 1981 Sourced from Hans Devente's tape, posted online June 2014. 01. Nummern 02. Computerwelt 03. Metropolis 04. The Model 05. Computer Liebe 06. Pocket Calculator The date on Hans' original upload is "11-1981" I've listed the date as December 10 based on information from www.twingokraftwerk.com. There are two vinyl bootlegs ("Machine" and "Somewhere In Europe") with the same songs as Hans' tape in the same order, and the sources are identified as Vredenburg on Dec. 10, 1981. The Computertour bootleg CD was sourced from the same Vredenburg, Dec. 10, 1981 show but with a different set list. This bootleg adds "Radioaktivitat" and "Autobahn" but is missing tracks 1, 2, and 6. My conclusion is that the correct date of Hans' show is December 10, 1981. As this tape is only about 1/2 an hour, and the bootlegs not much longer it's likely both versions are sourced from partial edited broadcasts of a longer concert. Hans uploads each side of his tapes as a single large file. I've chaptered the show, equalized the channels, and applied a fade to the end of the tape. https://mega.co.nz/#!6Mgn3IbJ!11AABcP6w3cxgQ2yXQm61jZaVLBWvHzol5_LqRiY040
