"Snuff Rock" was the record-breaking musical play presented at London's Royal Court Theatre and Round House, and was famous for the role of the comic disc jockey played by Les Prior. The accompanying EP, "Snuff Rock", released on Stiff Records, poked fun at the punk rock phenomenon, targeting the Sex Pistols ("Gobbing On Life"), The Damned ("Kill") and The Clash ("Snuffin' Like That") as well as a myriad of reggae bands in "Snuffin' In A Babylon". For once, the Albertos' act was successfully transferred to vinyl. They hit the UK Top 50 with the Status Quo spoof, "Heads Down No Nonsense Mindless Boogie" in 1978. Les Prior died in January 1980 from leukemia, which left a large gap in the group.
After their nationally-networked TV show Teach Yourself Gibberish and a crack at America with Sleak, the Albertos called it a day in 1982.

This gig was recorded in 1987 during the Stranglers US tour. Robert Williams takes up the drum duties on this tour as Jett Black was suffering from shingles. Williams had previously worked with Captain Beefheart and Hugh Cornwell on his album Nosferatu, he really kicked the band and the audience asses that night.

Oregon is an American jazz and world music group, with core members Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless amd Glen Moore. From a live radio broadcast originally recorded onto cassette tape. This is from the bands brief period where they were only a trio, after founding member Collin Walcott's death and after his replacement, percussionist Trilok Gurtu, departed after being in the band for several years. During this period the band did record two albums as a trio, "Troika" and "Beyond Words" before adding percussion (and a forth member) back into the group.

This is the first of two KBFH broadcasts of
songs from this concert. A later broadcast on November 19, 1989 show duplicates five songs (Everybody's Everything, Black Magic Woman, Gypsy Queen, Oye Como Va, Soul Sacrifice) with this show, drops the other four songs and adds four other songs. I don't have the other second show but I'm running a search on Ebay and eventually it will turn up.
I went with an archival approach here; I included
everything so you can create an exact duplicate of
the original broadcast...but it's tracked so you can easily drop the commercials.

The 2019 show was just broadcasted last night from SRF
The story of that band from Cologne is quickly told: They seemed to get sucessful, grabbed a record deal with WEA, recorded a (imho) wonderful first album, recorded a second ... and that's the whole story as far as I'm aware of it. Goldi (unikult) organized their first concert in our hometown 1977 at the so called "Pfingstival" and a second show 2 years later, when the record was released.

The story "ended" like this. After his studies at the Saarbrücken University Goldi moved to Cologne and started as the manager of what became of the "Food Band", "Wolf Maahn & Die Deserteure", singing in german
In an interview with DLF, the biggest german public radio, the female interviewer asked (to my very surprise) him about the Food Band ... and didn't get an answer on that
