Allman Brothers Band / Supergroups In Concert 1979
The Allman Brothers Band – Super Groups In Concert Presents The Allman Brothers Band
This is digitized from the 3-LP set, which was originally broadcast on August 25, 1979. I've seen the source concert listed as July 19, 1979 Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, Maryland. This was the fourth Supergroups show, and ads from that time say it was to be broadcast by "300 stations," which may give us an idea of how many records were pressed up.
I've included a scan of the cover and a disc label, but unfortunately the cue sheets are missing.
As our friend Anonymous was having trouble downloading this as a single file, I've added a two part download below. I hope this works for him!

05. Refugee - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
06. American Girl - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
07. Breakdown - Tom Petty & the Heartbreaker
All of the Tom Petty tracks were recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon.
"Anything That's Rock 'n' Roll" is from March 6, 1980.
The rest of the Tom Petty tracks are from March 7, 1980.
The first thing to know about this Canadian syndicated radio show is the name of the show is not true. "Live From Central Park" was not recorded in "Central Park," but was an edited rebroadcast of King Biscuit Flower Hour tapes, rebroadcast in Canadian radio markets.
While I don't know the source of the Allman Brothers Band tracks, the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers songs are sourced from the 1980 King Biscuit Flower Hour program recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon on March 6th and 7th, 1980. There was also a King Biscuit Allman Brothers show in 1980, and all of these "Central Park" tracks are on that KBFH show...so that's POSSIBLE as a source.A show recorded in England presented a problem for a concert supposedly from "Central Park," as the introduction on "Anything That's Rock 'n' Roll" says, "Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome from the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!"
The show doesn't define where "Central Park" is located, but the most famous American "Central Park" is in New York City. A native speaker of the English language in North America would never welcome an American band to New York City by calling out that the band is from "the United States of America." So TBS Syndications - Toronto edited out the words "United States of America." It's the same intro as on the Hammersmith show and the edit is obvious when you compare the two shows, and it maintained the fiction that the show was from "Central Park."
The original broadcast included a second LP of the band Triumph, which I don't have..
TBS Syndications also rebroadcast some of the Supergroups shows. The "Live From Central Park" series ran in the early 1980s. Our old pal, Pat St. John, turns up as the announcer (once again!)

Anyway...to make it clear as possible:
"Live From Central Park" is NOT "Live From Central Park!"
"Live From Central Park" n'est pas "Live From Central Park!"
"Live From Central Park" NO es "Live From Central Park!"
"Live From Central Park" ist NICHT "Live vom Central Park!"

"Live From Central Park" NON è "Live From Central Park!"
"Live From Central Park" NIE jest "Live From Central Park!"
«Live From Central Park» НЕ «Живите из Центрального парка!»
"Live From Central Park" não é "Live From Central Park!"
Το "Live From Central Park" δεν είναι "Live From Central Park!"
"Otse Keskpargist" EI EI "Live Keskpargist!"
"Phila Ku-Central Park" AKUKHO "Phila Ku-Central Park!"
"Live From Central Park" NU este "Live From Central Park!"

Super Groups Salute To The South - Sept. 5, 1981
In 1981, Super Groups came back with a new look for their syndicated radio shows. Gone were the premium "boxed set" packages, audiophile sleeves, and premium paper inserts. The new look was like the King Biscuit product: a monochrome disc label, photocopied cue sheets, and cheap paper sleeves...and the similar look wasn't coincidental: the shows were produced by D.I.R. Broadcasting Corp., also the producers of the King Biscuit shows. It looks like they were etching a show number into the run-out groove that numbers the shows in a simple ascending numbering scheme. If that's right, this is the second show in the new series (SG-002)
For this one, broadcast on a Saturday at the start of the Labor Day weekend, Super Groups adopted a "Southern Rock" theme for a "compilation show" with live spots from the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet, Outlaws/Henry Paul Band, Rossinton Collins, .38 Special, and the Johnny Van Zant Band. Each group gets one to three songs per LP side, so this doesn't play like a real concert, but it's a good overview of the genre.
...and they wrap the whole thing up with a long version of "Freebird" (or "Free Bird"). If you were ending a Southern Rock smorgasbord, is their any other choice?
It's hosted by Pat St. John, a Yankee D.J. who shows up hosting a lot of these syndicated shows..
Unfortunately, there were no cue sheets with this one. I've included a scan of a disc label. The vinyl on Side A presented some challenges, but I put in a week of work and made it listenable. Flac files of wavs!

The big mystery:

This version is digitized from Westwood One Superstars In Concert CO-89-26 for broadcast the weekend of September 22, 1989. The concert is identified as from the Concord Pavilion by the announcer on tracks 1 and 26.
There is another Westwood One Superstars In Concert show from 1990 with an identical track listing, 90-16 for broadcast the weekend of July 14-15, 1990. The number 90-16 is printed on the LP discs and that number is in sequence with the broadcast window date (90-15 is Don Henley for July 8-9 and show 90-17 is Bruce Hornsby for broadcast July 21-22).
However, the cue sheet for the 1990 Allman Brothers show has the number of 90-28 on it.
There was an ongoing mix-up that summer at Westwood One, because the Don Henley show for July 7-8 has discs 90-15 and cue 90-27, the Tom Petty show for Aug. 26-28 has discs 90-22 and cues 90-34, the Elton John show for Sept. 22-23 has discs 90-26 and cues 90-38. And there may be more....
The 1990 show - whether it's 90-16 or 90-28...has been identified several times on Ebay as Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. Presumably that comes from the announcer, too, but I can't verify that as I don't have a copy.
The Allman Brothers played both venues in 1989, a day apart:
Concord Pavilion Aug. 10, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre Aug. 11, 1989
Westwood One may have recorded both shows, but it's not likely they would have edited two identical track listings out of the raw recordings and broadcast both of them. The most likely guess is that one of the shows was incorrectly identified. It's also possible that the show is a composite of recordings from both venues, leading to the difference in attribution.
I'm listing this as Concord, but if anyone can confirm or deny the actual venue by comparing with an audience tape, that would solve this mystery.

Allman Brothers Band - Tampa `70
Allman Brothers Band
Tampa,Florida `70
For brother Mitch who used to be posting on the FBS and on the Wagon (and there was another one:The Blue Suede Lounge; do yu still remember?) in the early days of beginning. The hot days! Always very funny,too...
The only reason to give cource for concern is,that I`m afraid he got this boot for a long time already (haha)...
For the ones, who maybe still don`t have this one: Excellent Allman Brothers performance; the rhythm section`s playing cool and groovy, while Duane let his guitar howl.
Beautiful!
And Exciting: It`s the Allman Brothers 1970.
But:
Much too short recording...

Notes: I recieved this show in trade this past summer It is a Kick ass Show
featuring the original Allman Brothers Line up. This is one of those shows you do
not want to miss.
Included notes: What can be said about this legendary Allman Brothers Band set that
hasn't been said before? Not much, but for the sake of those unfamiliar with this
particular show, here they are, the original lineup, performing the last set
ever to be played at the venerable Fillmore East.
Country influences were not yet prominent in the group’s sound, but their
unique blend of rock, blues and jazz was reaching stratospheric regions by
this point. Duane Allman and Dickey Betts’ telepathic lead guitar playing
combined with Berry Oakley's incredibly inventive, melodic bass to achieve a
pure, improvisational genius, equal to the likes of the greatest jazz
performers. Add Gregg Allman's bluesy organ, authentic gritty vocals and the
dynamic, propulsive drumming duo of Johanson and Trucks, and you have
one of the most innovative and captivating bands to ever play the Fillmore.
After the classic Bill Graham introduction, the group warms up with
"Statesboro Blues." After three more, relatively short bluesy numbers - all of
which are played wonderfully - they get down to serious business on "In
Memory Of Elizabeth Reed." Here, the band takes flight, soaring upward with
Betts' and Allman's inspired guitar playing, riffs vacillating from beautiful to
furious. This is also a testament to Berry Oakley's bass playing as an integral
melodic factor to the band's overall sound.
Following a straightforward, concise rendition of "Midnight Rider," the band
takes flight again on the fierce, propulsive instrumental "Hot ‘Lanta." Next up
is the ever popular "Whipping Post," here stretched out to almost twenty
minutes of epic jamming that never loses interest as Duane Allman explores
the farthest reaches of possibility on slide guitar. With the band's allotted
time having just run out, Bill Graham returns to the stage to say thanks and
goodbye to the Fillmore East audience. The band, still hungry to play, begins
the classic riff that launches "You Don't Love Me," and before you know it,
are off on another epic jam that would go down in history as the last song
ever played at the Fillmore East.
Of course nobody knew it at the time, but Duane Allman had less than 100
days left to live after this performance. He would be killed in a motorcycle
accident on October 29, 1971 in Macon, Georgia, when his bike collided
with a truck. Approximately a year after that tragic loss, Berry Oakley died
in another motorcycle accident, only three blocks away from the site of Allman's
fatal accident, on November 11, 1972.

The band was formed in Jacksonville, Florida on March 26, 1969, and consisted of Brothers Duane and Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts,
Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny Johanson. This is a most excellent Soundboard recording of the band early days. I
wouldn't miss this one if you are an Allman Brothers fan. Some mind blowing guitar work here very tight band. The Band was in top form this evening.
