We've got 300 dpi scans of the cue sheet, all six disc labels, a newspaper print ad for a ticket broker that proves Winwood played two nights at Great Woods Performing Arts Center on August 21 and 22, 1988.  There's no evidence which date (or if both) was the source of the recording. 

This set of tracks was broadcast three times by Westwood One.  The first broadcast was 88-G broadcast in December 1988, followed by this show (89-23), and then the final broadcast as 90-03.  I put up 89-23 back in 2013 and it's still up in our archives. If you've got that one, you don't need this version unless you want to collect 'em all for the commercials.  I've tossed in the print ad for 88-G, even though this isn't from that particular syndication.

On The Venue....WIKI says,
The Pellissier Building and adjoining Wiltern Theatre is a 12-story, 155-foot Art Deco landmark at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue in Los Angeles, California. The entire complex is commonly referred to as the Wiltern Center. Clad in a blue-green glazed architectural terra-cotta tile and situated diagonal to the street corner, the complex is considered one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States. 

The entrance to the Wiltern Theatre is flanked by large vertical neon signs, while patrons approach the ticket booth set back among colorful terrazzo paving. The Wiltern's interior was designed by G. Albert Lansburgh and is renowned for its Art Deco design containing decorative plaster and tile work along with colorful murals painted by Anthony Heinsbergen. The most dramatic element of the design is the sunburst on the ceiling of the auditorium, with each ray its own Art Deco skyscraper—Lansburgh's vision of the future of Wilshire Boulevard. When the Wiltern first opened, it also housed the largest theater pipe organ in the western United States

Originally built in 1931, the Wiltern was designed by architect Stiles O. Clements of Morgan, Walls & Clements,[6] the city's oldest architectural firm.[citation needed] The Wiltern Theatre was originally designed as a vaudeville theater and initially opened as the Warner Brothers Western Theater, the flagship for the theater chain. The building and theater were built by the William Simpson Construction Company.[7] After closing a year later, the theater reopened in the mid-1930s and was renamed the Wiltern Theatre for the major intersection which it faces (Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue).[8][9]

In 1956, the building and theater were sold to the Franklin Life Insurance Company of Springfield, Illinois. The Los Angeles chapter of the American Theater Organ Enthusiasts worked to restore the theater's 37-rank Kimball pipe organ—reputed to be the largest one in Los Angeles at the time—and held recitals there through the late 1960s and into the mid-1970s.

However, the owners ignored the landmark building, and by the late 1970s, the Wiltern had fallen into disrepair. Only the intervention of a group of local preservationists saved the complex from being demolished on two occasions in the late 1970s, when the owners filed for demolition permits.[10] (The preservation of the Wiltern was one of the Los Angeles Conservancy's first victories in its fight to preserve the architectural heritage of the city.)

My cassette has this as Yubin Chokin Hall, but Setlist.fm says it's Nippon Budokan.  I got it from a trader in Tokyo who had it at Yubin Chokin Hall.  The two venues are about four miles apart.  As we all know, just because it's on the Internet doesn't make it true, but I want to let you know when I spot these anomalies.

Plus, I wasn't able to find OTHER dates in Japan during March 1987, which is weird.   Shouldn't there be other dates easily spotted on the Internet?

The show seems to be edited down from a longer performance as Vega mentions performing "Solitude Standing," which is not on the tape.  The Intro was clearly added after the performance.  There's an introduction in Japanese, which might hold a clue as to the venue, but I don't hear either "Yubin Chokin" or "Budokan."

UPDATE:  We're now sure that this was recorded at the Yubin Chokin Hall.

Sadly, "Happy Trails" marked the end of an era, and Greil Marcus's glowing review of the album in 'Rolling Stone' was prefaced by the comment that this "would presumably be Quicksilver's last album". Gary Duncan had in fact left the group before the album was completed, and had to be coaxed into returning to complete his work on "Calvary", before leaving again. The reason was Dino Valenti, again freed from prison, and now living in the Mill Valley area. He occasionally sang with the band.

Squeeze recorded at the Apollo Theatre Manchester on September 20, 1987.

Richard Marx was featured on two Westwood One shows. Westwood One In Concert 87-17, a show split with Bruch Hornsby, was broadcast on August 31, 1987.  This show (88-04) was his second and final Westwood One appearance. The shows are nearly identical.  All the tracks from 87-17 are repeated on 88-04, and with one additional track ("Endless Summer Nights") added to the show.

"Have Mercy" features guitar quotes from "Layla."

The Squeeze tracks are all on BBC In Concert 426 with a total of 15 tracks, as compared to the 10 on the Westwood One show.

The Squeeze show was part of the Manchester Festival, "a promotion by Manchester City Council for the people of Manchester."  The Festival ran from the 18th through the 27th at multiple venues and featured a diverse set of acts, including the Chieftains, Sweet Honey In The Rock, and Georgie Fame.

The confusing plethora of artists working under the name of Luther (nickname here) Johnson can leave even those with a decent knowledge of blues in a major state of confusion. But in this biographical entry, we concern ourselves with the life and times of Luther "Georgia Boy/Snake Boy" Johnson who, to make matters even more confusing, also worked and recorded under the names Little Luther and Luther King. (It turns out his real name wasn't even Luther, but Lucius.) Upon his military discharge, he picked guitar as a member of the Milwaukee Supreme Angels gospel group, working the local church circuit. But the blues bug hit and he soon had his own little blues trio together, eventually settling in Chicago by the early '60s. He played for a while with Elmore James and was a regular fixture in the Muddy Waters band by the mid-'60s. He recorded as Little Luther for Chess in the mid-'60s ("The Twirl") and by 1970 was relocated to Boston, MA, working as a solo artist. The next five years found him working steadily on the college and blues festival circuit before cancer overtook him on March 18, 1976, at a mere 41 years of age.

The bonus tracks on the album are three acoustic performances broadcast on UK radio.

Duran Duran began their 60-minute show with "Hungry Like the Wolf", featuring Simon Le Bon singing several lines of an introduction with new lyrics. The band then followed with "Ordinary World", a new song from The Wedding Album which Le Bon introduced by saying "This means a lot to us, about the place we inhabit, our world, the ordinary world."

 Performed with a string section, the show also featured acoustic versions of Duran Duran's debut single "Planet Earth" and several more songs from The Wedding Album released earlier that year.
