'Stars' was Simply Red's fourth album release, becoming the best-selling album for two years running in the UK and Europe.
Simply Red's first single, 'Money's Too Tight (To Mention)' and their debut album, 'Picture Book', were both released in 1985, but it was a year later, with the release of the hit single Holding Back The Years, that Simply Red became a household name. In 1995 the band scored their first British No.1 hit with 'Fairground', from the album 'Life'.
In March 2008, in an exclusive concert for Radio 2, Simply Red perform their classic 1991 album 'Stars' at the BBC Radio Theatre in London.
