Rock is DEAD? nononononononono..... wrong brain. Listen to any of the wonderful bands blazing out of New Jersey and other nooks and crannies and you will find some of the best music going. This CD is just a classic. Ed Mundell from Monster Magnet is great in his main band, but this masterstroke gives him liberty to show off with his mates. I mean show off! How good is this. It is EVERYTHING you could wish for in a rock album and more. Perfect. Anybody who doesn't like this is stupid.

Roy Gaines and His West Coast Blues Band - Paris 2002

Roy Gaines and His West Coast Blues Band - 2002
Paris, France
Soundboard @ HQ vbr

A protege of the legendary T-Bone Walker, electric bluesman Roy Gaines was born in Houston in 1934; the product of a musical family -- his older brother Grady later went on to play saxophone in Little Richard's famed backing band the Upsetters -- he initially played the piano in emulation of Nat King Cole, but as a teen moved to the guitar. A huge admirer of Walker's work, at 14 Gaines met his hero at a local performance, and was even invited to back Walker onstage; dubbed "T-Bone Jr." thereafter, he regularly played clubs throughout the Houston area before relocating to Los Angeles two years later. There Gaines was tapped to join Roy Milton's band, followed by a stint in support of Chuck Willis; additionally, he and Walker occasionally joined forces in the years leading to the latter's 1975 death. Long a sought-after sideman, Gaines recorded infrequently as a headliner, finally releasing an LP, Gaineling, in 1982; other albums include 1996's Lucille Work for Me, 1999's I Got the T-Bone Walker Blues and 2000's New Frontier Lover. ~ Jason Ankeny-AMG

Corky Laing Mick Ronson Secret Sessions

Yes, yes I know there has been some recent turmoil here at the Wagon. So all of us here decided to come up with some new rules to make your stay here at the Wagon more pleasurable. First, please, please do not engage in conversation with our hostess Chesty Areiola(She's the woman to your right) Chesty's dance routine is very intricate. Any deviation from it, throws off her timing and makes Chesty testy. Second, please use the coasters that are provided. We recently spent a great deal to refurnish this place. These tables are made from the finest press wood we could find. Third, please use the receptacles provided. After reading our tribute to Tyrone Woods of Madison Square Garden, he wanted to come and work for us. Tyrone is quite old, so if you'll pick up after yourself it makes it easier on ol' Tyrone. Fourth, please no swearing. The women here that show you their tits and ass, find it unappealing. And they won't fuck us. And finally please extinguish all fires on your leaving. We believe if every one follows these simple rules, you'll have a great time here. THANK YOU. THE MANAGMENT.

Mott The Hoople Rarities And Outtakes

Well the annual Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame has come and gone again. But you know it got me to thinking, so many bands have been overlooked. What about those that had a hand in shaping R&R but are never gonna get the credit they deserve. So ladies and gentlemen I give you The Jobe Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame(For the under appreciated) My first nominee hails from Germany many of you have seen his fine work but don't know his name, I present Gunther Dusseldorff. Gunther(or as he is known in rock circles the hair man to the gods.) Gunther's worked with(the late) Kevin DuBrow, Klaus Meine, and who can ever forget what he did for Phill Collins. Our next nominee hails from Nickred Tennessee, ladies and gentlemen here's the man Cledus Malone. Rock and Rolls best mechanic. Cledus started his career in 1966. His first famous client, well you may have heard of him, none other than Bob Dylan. Cledus at the time was working for his father in Woodstock NY. Bob brought in his Triumph Tiger for a tune-up and brake job. Other famous clients Cledus has worked for(or on their vehicles) Duane Allman and Marc Bolan. And finally our last nominee is Tyronne Woods, lead janitor of Madison Square Garden. One night after his cleaning crew staged a sick out, Tyronne was left to single handily clean up the Garden after a Metalliac concert. Ever the trooper Tyronne was seen (while whistling his favorite Nat King Cole song) scraping the vomit off the highback chairs(with his favorite putty knife) while sweeping up the empty Vodka bottles and pop corn containers with his other hand at the same time. Tyronne says "I may not like da music, but as lung as they be coming I be sweeping" And there you have it my first shout out to the unsung heroes of Rock and Roll. Oh yeah now about this I have no back cover for this, so you'll have to make your own. Studio outtakes from Mott. And those songs are 1.Long Red 2.It'll Be Me 3.Baby's Got A Down On Me 4.Sunset Summer 5.Chosen Road 6.Whole Lotta Shakin 7.Your Cheatin' Heart 8.I Could Never Be Ashamed Of You 9.What'd I Say 10.Sweet Jane 11.It's All Right 12.Till I'm Gone 13.Saturday Kids 14.Saturday Gigs 15.Saturday Gigs 16.It Would Be A Pleasure 17.All The Young Dudes 18.Henry & The H-Bombs 19.Lounge Lizard 20.I'll Tell You Something HOW BOUT A BIG HAND FOR THE 2011 NOMINEE'S

Whitesnake - Live Reading Rock 1980

Whitesnake - Live Reading Rock 1980
FM Source @320
Broadcast Late 1980

Tracks:
01 - Intro/Sweet Talker
02 - Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues
03 - Ain't Gonna Cry No More
04 - Love Hunter
05 - Mistreated
06 - Soldier Of Fortune
07 - Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City
08 - Fool For Your Loving

After recording two solo albums, former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale formed Whitesnake around 1977. In the glut of hard rock and heavy metal bands of the late '70s, their first albums got somewhat lost in the shuffle, although they were fairly popular in Europe and Japan. During 1982, Coverdale took some time off so he could take care of his sick daughter. When he re-emerged with a new version of Whitesnake in 1984, the band sounded revitalized and energetic. Slide It In may have relied on Led Zeppelin's and Deep Purple's old tricks, but the band had a knack for writing hooks; the record became their first platinum album. Three years later, Whitesnake released an eponymous album (titled 1987 in Europe) that was even better. Portions of the album were blatantly derivative -- "Still of the Night" was a dead ringer for early Zeppelin -- but the group could write powerful, heavy rockers like "Here I Go Again" that were driven as much by melody as riffs, as well as hit power ballads like "Is This Love." Whitesnake was an enormous international success, selling over six million copies in the U.S. alone.

Swervedriver - Peel Sessions 1990

Swervedriver - Peel Sessions
July 31, 1990
FM Source @256

The band who brought the car song into the shoegaze era, Swervedriver was formed in Britain in 1990 by vocalists/guitarists Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge, bassist Adi Vines, and drummer Graham Bonner. Fusing the swirling textures of the shoegazer aesthetic with the more traditional boundaries of pop, the group debuted with a series of brilliant EPs -- Son of Mustang Ford, Rave Down, and Sandblasted -- before issuing their full-length debut, Raise, in 1991. After a U.S. tour in support of Soundgarden, Bonner left the band, followed quickly by the departure of Vines; 1992's Never Lose That Feeling EP, their strongest effort to date, initially appeared to mark the group's swan song. But in 1993, Swervedriver returned; with the core of Franklin and Hartridge rounded out by new drummer Jez, they released their sophomore LP Mezcal Head. An import-only release, Ejector Seat Reservation, followed in 1995; in the fall of 1998, Swervedriver resurfaced with their fourth effort, 99th Dream. The Wrong Treats EP followed in 1999. Bonner and Vines, meanwhile, continued as Skyscraper. Adam Franklin recorded as Toshack Highway.

Television - Double Exposure

Television - Double Exposure
(No Label) (Italy) No. DE-92-SC, released 1992 @flac
This is a bootleg of the mis-named "Eno" demos recorded in 1974, along with some live tracks recorded at CBGB, and Breakin' In My Heart recorded at the Piccadilly Inn, Cleveland July 25, 1975.

Track List:
Prove It
Friction
Venus
Double Exposure
Marquee Moon
Fire Engine
Blank Generation
Double Exposure
Hard On Love
Friction/Careful
Prove It
Fire Engine
Breakin’ In My Heart

 *Other Notes*
This is two demo recording sessions from Television in 1974 & 1975. The bands highly acclaimed debut album 'Marquee Moon' was released in 1977 (Elektra Records) and was very successful in Europe however failed to enter the Billboard 200 in the USA.

Both sessions were included on the bootleg 'Double Exposure' which surfaced in Italy (No Label No. DE-92-SC), and was first released in 1992. The original bootleg included three live tracks from CBGB's in 1975, that are missing from this version.

The Television 1974 demos were recorded at Good Vibrations Studios in NYC with Richard Hell on bass, and produced by Brian Eno and Richard Williams of Island Records.

The August 1975 demos were recorded with Fred Smith on bass and were part of the session for Terry Ork of Ork Records which produced Television's first single "Little Johnny Jewel" (Ork, 1975, included on expanded re-issue of Marquee Moon).

It is fascinating listening to the early versions of these songs that eventually appeared on 'Marquee Moon'. Each session and versions are distinctly different the second having a 'harder edge' to them and closer to the final released editions.
