This disc is awesome! Complete Radio Sessions was released between Outcesticide I & II. It contains four Studio Sessions, part of 01/10/92, and my personal favorite - the "Lithium" from the Mtv Awards with the "Rape Me" tease intro!! The intro was removed after the first broadcast of the show.

Since this disc was released in 1994, there have been remastered versions to surface into traders circles. At the time, these were the best recordings available. It has become fairly difficult to find an "official" Blue Moon disc since there have been so many clones made by other labels. This is one of the few "Must Have" compilation discs on the market and should be added to every Outcesticide series.

man,oh man,it`s nearly 19 years ago.We didn`t even have the €...

" Nirvana’s last concert only lasted 80 minutes (one of the shortest shows from the tour). Kurt Cobain had a sore throat and eventually lost his voice during the show due to bronchitis. After this show the rest of the tour was cancelled. 

 

They did not play “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Novoselic jokingly alluded to the band’s demise:

“We’re not playing the Munich Enormodome tonight. ‘Cos our careers are on the wane. We’re on the way out. Grunge is dead. Nirvana’s over…our next record’s going to be ahip-hop record!”

"If,in the 1990`s,you went to a CD swap meet that sold a lot of bootlegs,the amount of Nirvana titles
could be staggering. The most obessive collectors wouldn`t hesitate to spend $500 or more on Nirvana alone and walk away with at least 20 or 25 Nirvana bootlegs, wheras collectors who were more budget-minded would try to determine which ones had the best sound quality and make their purchases accordingly. One Nirvana bootleg with which you can`t go wrong is Roma, recorded live in Rome, Italy on February 22, 1994, the concert occurred less than two month`s before Kurt Cobain`s tragic suicide.
A digital soundboard recording, Roma boasts excellent sound quality - not just decent,but excellent - and the band`s set is outstanding. At the time, Cobain was battling his demons and losing the battle;
he would unsuccessfully attempt suicide on March 4, but succeed in killing himself on April 5.
Despite the emotional hell he was going through, Cobain gives first-rate performances throughout the
concert,singing with as much conviction as ever on "Rape Me,""Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Heart Shaped Box," and other angst-ridden grunge gems. Roma was hardly the only bootleg that resulted

It has been said that it was somewhat fitting that Nirvana played their last American gig in Seattle.
Listening to this set, there is nothing to suggest that this would be the last time the trio of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would perform as Nirvana on American soil. It’s a rip-roaring set with a passionate Cobain apparently in command. Whatever demons that had been haunting him were cast aside for the night and Nirvana sounded like they could take on the world.
After all, their third album, In Utero, debuted at No. 1 in September 1993 and the group played practically the entire album (with the exception of Very Ape and Tourette’s). In December 1993, their MTV Unplugged show was aired to an admiring audience; Cobain was working on new material and the group even managed to lay down tracks for 11 songs. [From what’s been written, what seemed to occupy Cobain’s mind in January 1994 was his new home in Seattle rather than any upcoming gig.]
After the Seattle gig, Nirvana embarked on a European tour, with stops in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland. In Germany, Cobain was diagnosed with bronchitis and severe laryngitis and the group had to cancel one of the shows. On March 4, Cobain was found unconscious in his hotel room in Rome and was rushed to hospital.
Cobain returned to Seattle at the beginning of April and on April 8, 1994, he was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head at his Seattle home.
And for those who attended the January 8 show, well, that’s the stuff legends are made.
The Last American Show is part of a six-CD boxset called Into The Black from the Italian Tribute label. The second disc includes Nirvana’s John Peel Sessions (1990-1991) - which are omitted here - and Courtney Love’s complete eulogy for Kurt Cobain on April 10, 1994 (included here). Those who are sensitive to strong language might want to skip Courtney Love’s eulogy.
