You'd think we'd have exhausted all of the NBC The Source concert shows, but we're still out here, tracking down missing concerts!

The Voodoo Wagon Research Team hasn't confirmed the source of the Ozzy tracks, but they are likely from NBC 82-26 The Ozzy Osbourne Concert, with air dates of July 16-17-17, 1982.  Pat Travers was originally NBC 83- 1 The Pat Travers Concert airing onJan 7-8-9, 1983.  The original show for Iron Maiden is NBC 82-33 Iron Maiden Concert air dates of September 3-4-5, 1983.  Ted's lunatic rambling can be found at much greater length on NBC 82-37 The Ted Nugent Concert which hit the airwaves on October 15-16-17, 1982.

All of the bands are in fine form.

OH HECK I FORGOT TO MENTION...BUCK DHARMA GUESTS ON "SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE!"

Our pal Sam shipped the discs out to me, and I ending up digitizing it twice. It took a fair amount of work to bash into shape, but the end result is much better than the record.  There were lots of sections where I had to work through little bits of static.

The concert was a benefit dubbed "The Steelworkers Ball," a benefit for unemployed steel workers sponsored by WIYY-FM and Miller Beer (through their local distributor Bond Distributing Company).

I've included 300 dpi scans of the cue sheet and all four disc labels.  I want to point out the cue sheet lists a "Side 5." There was no third disc, the entire show was on two discs.  I found some press coverage of the show and it's in the Artwork folder.

Flac files of wavs.  We're missing good scans of the disc labels, but I've put some lousy low-rez junk I found out on the Internet in the Artwork file.  I've included all five print ads from the SF Chronicle/Examiner "pink section" (the Sunday entertainment tab section), plus a low-resolution of the trade ad.

Plus an exclusive interview with Pat Thrall, the second guitarist in the Pat Travers Band. Thrall was originally from Alameda in the East Bay, and had played previously with Automatic Man.

This show was added to the tour schedule a week prior to the concert.  The print ads from April 20 and May 4 have Travers at the Oakland Auditorium on May 24 and at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on May 26, with no show at the Warfield.  The ad on May 18 adds the Warfield.

This is unusual.  Concerts were not booked in Oakland and San Francisco on the same tour. It's ten miles from the Warfield Theatre to the Oakland Auditorium (now the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts). Yeah, you've got the traffic nightmare that is the Bay Bridge, but you can take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from Lake Merritt Station in Oakland to Powell Station in San Francisco in 39 minutes (plus walking two blocks at each end).  In a lot of cities, ten miles between the two venues is in the same city.

Def Leppard was the opening act, and for the Oakland show they added a band named Russia.

The ad on the May 25th mentions San Francisco's KSAN-FM as sponsor. KSAN did frequent live broadcasts, but there is no radio listing in the newspapers that KSAN did a live broadcast of this show.

This was up for an hour with the wrong cue sheet; it has since been replaced with the correct cue seet from Discogs.
