I was talking about radio shows with one of our Beloved Voodoo Wagon Audience, and discovered he had a stack of cassettes with local broadcasts from the Philadelphia area.  He shipped a few of 'em out west to me, and I'm digitizing and sharing them here on VW.  We're going to call this the "Sam Elliot's Mustache Collection," and all thanks go to our blog-friend for hanging on to these recordings for almost forty years.  We're going to work our way through his collection over the few months.  Upcoming shows include the Bullet Boys, Jason & the Scorchers, and Robert Hazard...and a special bunch of SUPER RARE radio shows direct from the original syndicated reel-to-reels.

The first one up is San Francisco's Wire Train.  I remember running into main Train Kevin Hunter in the cafeteria at S.F. State, when the band went by The Renegades.  After the first album, all new members except for Hunter were recruited to record the second LP.

Rock n' Roll Geography Lesson:
The Empire Rock Club was in the music business roughly 1983-1990.  Located at  7015 E. Roosevelt Boulevard, the building is still standing and in recent years has been a Bingo Hall, discount mattress store, and a beer distributor.
