The Flesh Eaters formed in the late 1970s, the brainchild of Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and postpunk poet Chris Desjardins, a.k.a. Chris D. Brooding and dark with often morbid lyrics, his unique vision and the group's raw, roots-based sound fused disparate American idioms including rock, rockabilly, garage punk, blues, jazz and more. Their 1981 tour de force A MINUTE TO PRAY, A SECOND TO DIE is a riveting sonic blast featuring Chris D. and a who's who of iconic L.A. players including X's John Doe and DJ Bonebrake, Dave Alvin and Bill Bateman of Blasters fame and Steve Berlin, a Blasters and Los Lobos alum. Stand-outs including “See You In The Boneyard” and “Digging My Grave” are more than ready for their encore.
