Flac files of .wavs, includes a scan of a wrinkled cue sheet, and the disc label, which a prior owner has helpfully marked up in pen with Ms. Griffith's name, dotting the "i" with a very nice circle. So it goes.
The BBC Transcription Service released this show as "In Concert #441," with one additional track ("Speed Of The Sound of Loneliness.") Another version is available at Bigozine2.com with that track, but also adds "I Would Bring You Ireland."
The Westwood One version was bootlegged in 1994 as "Love Affairs In A Foreign Town" (Monada/OSA, NCI 016) Reportedly from "a well-worn LP" and "contains noticeable surface noise."

ReplyDeleteShe was an unknown to me, Wacocrimatty. I have one track by her on the Elvis Presley tribute CD, "The Last Temptation of Elvis." Other than that, I was unfamiliar with her work. She's an engaging writer, and the band is great, so I'll have to check out some of her CDs. Any recommendations?

ReplyDeleteI would own all of her stuff up to and including Flyer. It gets a bit spotty after that. But Other Voices, Other Rooms is also necessary. You can pick up most of her stuff from Amazon as used CD's for pennies. Do not buy any of the best of's. You need the full catalog. Yes. It is that good.

ReplyDeleteShe's a treasure... played at music festival I worked on and the night she performed, it actually was a blue moon- a coincidence that will make sense to anyone who knows her early albums. Unforgettable!
