  17. Sorry to hear the sad news about your Dad. My condolences.

As for the flu,...it is back. It is definitely back. For a few years, while the world was sick, we heard nary a word about the flu. I run a lot of these tests at the hospital, and during the pandemic it was once in a blue moon that either flu A or B would come up positive. This season, it is most definitely back. Mostly A. Some B. Of course, the annual flu vax is no guarantee against picking up the flu. But it is supposed to attenuate it and reduce the severity of symptoms if you do get it. Every year, the "experts" study the latest trends in occurrences of various flu strains (and there are many....like, many many, as the various strains evolve from year to year.) And they try to predict which strains are most likely to come down the pike. With their predictions in hand, they choose which strains to combine into the latest flu vaccine. Most of the time, we're lucky, and they come close with the vaccine and we enjoy a season relatively free of symptoms. This season, however, was a tremendous miss. Many of my coworkers who are flu-vaxxed came down with bad cases of the flu. That doesn't mean screw the vaccine. It just means the "experts" got it wrong this year. It happens. And it sucks to get the flu.

  21. I am very sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers to you and yours. I have gone thru what you are going thru, losing both my mother and wife 3 days of each other. Times were tough. But eventually we have, and do, press on. Lean on one another. And was and still is, music was the healer. It soothes us, takes us back in time, brings back memories of our past. Music is our life's soundtrack. Be well!
