Ms. Apple was touring in support of her first album, TIDAL, released on July 23, 1996. As is typical with first tours, the entire set list is drawn from that her CD. It's actually the entire album with only the last track "Carrion" left out.
The show is from a rebroadcast of the original KFOG tape on one of their periodic "Live From The Archives - The Show" programs, usually done in support of the release of their annual "Live From The Archives" CD release.
This is digitized directly from my Maxell XL-IIS high-bias cassette, so it sounds great! I preserved a bit of the deejay, faded out at the end....we had a "jumper" on the Bay Bridge. Unusual. No one jumps off the stupid Bay Bridge. Seriously...you have a choice: the Golden Gate, or the Bay Bridge? One is an iconic world renowned architectural landmark, the other is the "Back To Oakland" sign on the Tower of Power LP. Which do you pick for your Grand Finale?
It's seems kind of crazy to me that Ms. Apple 1st hit the airwaves and us 25 years ago! I thought she was/is an amazing talent. To bad she pretty much kept herself from us for such long periods of time.
ReplyDeleteWell, we're living in "The Future" now. No atomic powered vacuum cleaners or vacations on the Rings of Saturn...instead, radio is dead, vinyl is back, and we're all old! :)
